So I am looking for a type of product I need for a physical business. I go to google and I start searching for "opaque black mailing bag" and a couple of other variations of the terms and over half the links are from companies in the UK. WTF is google doing. 9 links on the first page for that term are all in the UK.

So either A) noone makes the things in the US and thats just all google has B) they think I am in the UK C) they fucked up something and co.uk's rank much better in the states.

Anyone else notice a uk invasion?

I wish there was a co.uk bias, i would be able to finally shift those high exact match domains i bought before i remembered to check location>UK instead of US - f*ck.

haha :) here you go: Color Poly Mailers

uline ftw

There's only 3 (.co.uk) sites above the (.com). One of them is 13 years old and another one is also older than the (.com). Marketers are obviously not interested. No surprise really as "opaque black mailing bag" has no searches and even "mailing bag" or "mailing bags" doesn't get many searches. So no one is optimising, but it wouldn't be difficult to get a top ranking with any such tld. They do sell mailing bags anyway at Amazon.com.

The top site is 4 years old and isn't specifically optimised for "opaque black mailing bag".

Using GKWT, I get < 10 Global monthly searches for exact match in the US.

Ranking for "opaque black mailing bag" should not be too difficult -with a bit of work! :D

Thanks, I am actually going to go with uline. The problem I was having was their bags did not have a suffocation warning printed on them. (needed by law) but I found out I could just put a sticker on the bag that said the same thing.

I agree with everyone that it is a pretty unique search term, but on my end I really did have 9 results on the first page that were uk's. It was driving me nuts.
