Cool thanks for this, I was looking at getting a EVO or equivalent before the iPhone 4 came out, I held out because I heard that the EVO had shit battery life and poor Wi-Fi reception, and physically bigger. I think iPhone is the way to go...or should I wait for a new HTC to come out

I still have yet to see any phone that's as polished as the iphone (physically or functionally). Hate apple all you want, they know how to make shit work.

No, not 2+ weeks but I've used a friends Droid as well as another friend's Evo and while the evo is very good I find the iPhone's ease of use/size and simplicity to make up for the lack of extra megapixels in the camera... and android as an OS is pretty clunky in my opinion. I do like how you can customize the home screen with widgets though, that's pretty cool.
And to address your comment directly, it's just one of many websites I own... I'm not crazy over apple or anything. for example, fuck an ipad.
I've had a iphone 3g for 2 years, i'm canning it and getting the Droid X on Verizon.
The two things I cannot live with are poor quality reception in my office and more importantly the inability to customize ringer profiles.
I don't know how the rest of you live with this- but I have hundreds of email accounts and get hundreds of emails 24 hours a day.
On my 6 year old blackberry I could customize this so that at night only a "Outage@" email address would come through along with phone calls. But texts, all other emails, flashing light, etc would not alert.
This is a dealbreaker I was CERTAIN they'd address in OS4.
But nope, instead we get a phone that if you hold it wrong drops calls and a better camera.

I cannot get my phone to drop a call, I've been trying all day...and I like the iPhone OS and phone itself better. everything just works right out of the box the way I want it to...It took me almost a week to figure out everything on android and tweak everything to a similar style that the iphone comes with right out of the box. Android was buggy for me, the keyboard kept crashing on me, and my sms app too. It was really annoying. after three weeks I switched back to the iPhone...I don't need to do a lot of customizations like you want...I keep my phone on silent the whole time, and I get a lot better coverage with the iPhone 4 than I did with the 3G...If I have coverage trouble in my house I might just get one of those 3g micro cells that hookup to your internet...the only place I have trouble with ATT is in one room of my house, which happens to be the room with my computer and bed :/ so I might invest in that microcell eventually...Also the 3G speeds are faster with ATT than sprint/verizon (if you can get coverage)...but generally verizon has better coverage.
i couldn't care less about tweaking it to a "style" - I need form over function.
Ironically I also need apple to stop releasing crap and kick out a mac pro. I'm a big apple fan (all of my computers are Apple along w/ router, iphones, etc) but they're really fucking up lately. This launch takes the cake.

I prefer my phone to "function" a certain way...if it doesn't I don't like it, and when I know another device on the market does it with ease, why wouldn't I switch...
With that said, I have a feeling android will keep getting better and by the end of the year will be on the same level as iOS. But I didn't do more and anything easier on my Evo than I do on my iPhone...Except plug it into the charger...it's very easy for some apps to get stuck running and destroy a battery, or by default htc facebook syncs everyones status updates..so your phone battery lasts like 8 hours, if you have it just chilling in your pocket...if you use it, even less.
