For Those of You with Children....



3 kids, 8 year and 6 year old boy, and 3 year old girl.
Age 41. Wouda started sooner, but had to save up to buy a house in Vancouver which was super expensive even 8 years ago.

Free time. Gave up all free time.
Of course, once they ALL hit kindergarten, you get a lot of it back.

Middle school/high school you get even more of it back because you get to add friends to their schedule instead of just scheduling education hours. But with a 3 year old ... that's still a decade away for you.

I completely second was TL said...hunker down...my son is 4 now and getting easier and easier....

On chantix and soon will be smoke free. That is the hardest. I already didn't/don't drink, so no biggee there.
 
I have a 3 year old boy and another boy due in a few weeks. I have given up free time, sex, and privacy. But that's a small price to pay for what you get in return. Kids are awesome and they teach you so much about life and what's important. Wouldn't trade it for anything.

On the other hand, I drink more now than I did before I had kids. lol.
 
We have two pairs of grandparents living within 2 miles of our house, so we're not really giving up much. Not like we had a fun, interesting life before we had kids.

They bring a lot to our lives. The 5 and the 4 year old both are really good at Left 4 Dead, so we play that together. When the 18 month old is good enough at it, we'll get him his own computer too.

Basically I'm trying to build my own Left 4 Dead team.
