What CC do you use for funding your PPC and PPV?

So Ive spent most of my life trying to avoid credit cards. For various reasons, I have always just put my earnings back into my business and never had a problem with that.

I have one visa card that Ive had for years and never had a late payment with, in fact I have a credit score of about 800 so there arent too many cards i would be declined for.

Anyway I figured I might as well be charging some of my PPC campaigns to a cc and continue building up some solid credit. I was thinking an amex maybe? What do you guys use for funding your campaigns and other things as well? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I use an Amex Gold and pay it off every week. The amount of points you can rack up is RIDICULOUS. No %'s since you're paying it off completely at least once a month.

As a plus, if you're a flashy fellow you can work your way up to the Centurion. Alternatively you can stay with the good ole Green card and no annual fees IIRC.

The downside is that if you are on Monthly Net15's with networks you won't have the same flexibility to run over if you need to. If you are getting paid for 1-30 on the 15th of the following month, and your card closing date is the 8th you have to have enough from the previous month to float the amount you spend 1st-8th. At nearly 1/3rd of the month that could be a huge amount. You should be able to have the cards closing date changed after your first cycle to keep that from being a problem.

ah see thats great, I never even thought about how with an amex I need to pay off in full monthly, and how that might be effected by what net payment im on with the network. I looked it up and the green card has fees also. I know I am approved for an amex gold so that might be the way to go. Have you heard of the zinc?

Even if I have the closing date changed, that still would leave me with a chunk of the month in which I have to float the costs myself right?

Oh also, any idea what the opening limit is on an amex gold card?

I use my RushCard pre-paid Visa.

But seriously, Amex is probably good if you want to rack up a bunch of points, plus their higher-tiered cards come with some nice benefits if you are into traveling, etc. As Parthenon mentioned, Amex is a charge card, not a credit card, although I do believe Amex has some traditional credit cards as well.

yea well since I intend on paying it all off monthly, the main purpose for this card would be for points and to build more credit. Thanks you guys. any idea what the initial limit is on an amex gold card?

anyone else?

AMEX plum with 1.5% cash back, DURRRRRRRRR
whoa 1.5% cashback on all purchases? plus all the points advantages of an amex? sounds great, only thing, is it only for business'? I want to build up more personal credit, not business credit.

Yeah, business only.

Sorry, didn't think you were talking personal.

I'm a HUGE Starwood Amex fan. Then back that up with a Plum when I have to many Starwood points. No blackouts, great properties and only 10k for a really nice room a night. In NYC rooms are around 500$ a night and it's only 10-12k points :)

Amen! SPG Card FTMFW!

Also, American Express has quite possibly the best customer service out of any company I've ever dealt with. Examples;

-Overnighted credit cards at no expense to me when I lost them
-Didn't charge me the standard maintenance fee when redeeming points for gift cards and next day mailed those as well because I've been a customer for a few years
-Just this past weekend I noticed I was charged a finance/late fee for a payment that I thought I had made. Called them up to see if they could help me out because I've never missed a payment before and they wiped the $150 in charges without any hassle and the lady was pleasant to talk to as well!

these mf'ers call me up and ask me to triple my spend, no joke.

in terms of flexibility every month i can choose 1.5% back or no interest for 2 months. Pretty nice for managing the cashflow.

Amex Gold has pretty awesome rewards, if you like that stuff. So far I've used it for:

- 2 round trip first class tickets to Israel last december
- 3 round trip tickets to Baltimore for September (visit family)
- one sick rice cooker so i can my sushi rice perfect (Zojirushi)
- 2 round trip tickets to Baltimore last summer

and i still have 250,000 unused points as of today.

with amex gold the limit increases as you spend and pay it off. I don't have a limit on mine as far as i know. I've gotten it up to $150k and never had any issues. But i think when i started it was $20k-$30k

awesome, I think Ill just be grabbing a gold, any of you have the jetblue amex? looks interesting, but I guess I can just spend my points from my gold on flights anyway

It doesn't really matter what Credit/Charge card you get. Just get the one with the most badass name and colour/looks.
