What CC do you use for funding your PPC and PPV?

I use mostly amexs (plum, spg), but I wanted to get a visa for the few places that don't take amex... suggestions? I was thinking of Chase INK but not sure.

I'm a HUGE Starwood Amex fan. Then back that up with a Plum when I have to many Starwood points. No blackouts, great properties and only 10k for a really nice room a night. In NYC rooms are around 500$ a night and it's only 10-12k points :)

Also, American Express has quite possibly the best customer service out of any company I've ever dealt with. Examples;

-Overnighted credit cards at no expense to me when I lost them
-Didn't charge me the standard maintenance fee when redeeming points for gift cards and next day mailed those as well because I've been a customer for a few years
-Just this past weekend I noticed I was charged a finance/late fee for a payment that I thought I had made. Called them up to see if they could help me out because I've never missed a payment before and they wiped the $150 in charges without any hassle and the lady was pleasant to talk to as well!

I also use the Starwood American Express card. Starpoints FTW! :thumbsup:
 
NOTE: my amex gold is for business, didn't realize you were talking personal card until just now. So not sure if Amex gold as a personal card is any diff from a biz card...

For personal we have a Chase Visa. Not all places take amex (restaurants) so sometimes an Amex card can be annoying for personal use. BUT if you are only going to use it for PPC/PPV you should not have a problem.

What's the points exchange like when traveling with Amex? Currently with my CC (USD RBC), I can transfer my points at a 1 CC point for 2 BA Miles exchange twice per year. So a roundtrip from Toronto to London (UK) on first class would be 150k BA Miles.. Or the equivalent of $75k spend on my CC. Are the travel perks similar?

I'm based in Canada but if the perks are really huge, I'll have to try figuring out a way to get one of these babies.

i like my capital one no hassle visa. i think it gets 1% back.

zero points, all cash.

I'll take 2% and buy travel any day of the week- though I don't travel much.

If I look at 2009 and the 2% savings versus points (and what I'd have used it on) I'd probably have about $50k in cash that wasn't in my hand but was sunk into points, and I did travel a decent amount (for me) last year.

I'd rather look after my money than let it sit interest free sunk into starwood points.

(Though- I have other Amex cards so 'perk' wise I still have access to the same great features, I just don't let points accrue and sit needlessly).

For me this works much better.
 
just got off the phone with amex, now its down to starwood or gold preferred rewards...damn me and my inability to make decisions.
 
Well you guys it was SPG FTW, I was approved and it should be here in a day or 2 thanks for all the input you guys. Just so everyone know the starwood card is a credit card, not a charge card like a gold card.
