That's what I live for. In high school I was hired by magazine companies to call back their subscribers and sell them more magazines.

I can sell anyone, anything, at anytime.

I just learned there's more money in selling things you own the offers for.

I'm actually setting up an insurance company right now, getting signed up with networks to run our offer.

Yeah man I actually have a very similar attitude to this whole business.

People are always talking about how gurus never give a method that actually works... but the way I see it the problem is never the idea/method. Anyone can come up with a method or have a really solid idea. I have dozens of ideas every day as does anyone else.

What this business really boils down to is being able to make it happen. Having the balls and sheer willpower to sit down and do the work to bring that idea into reality.

And this is why I really respect what you're doing here. You are demonstrating what real action really means and not half assing what most of us are usually doing.

I'm going to be starting a 10 day challenge after being inspired by someone on here who's trying to figure out how they can get the money to start AM.

If I was as bad ass as it sounds like you are at sales I would tell IM to kiss my ass. I would much rather be doing this kind of stuff.

OP - Great post, and way to take charge.
I used to make 40-50 cold calls a day back in the mortgage craze. You need some balls for what you do. I'll do it again if I go hungry, but hated it with a passion.

Have you considered hiring a person to make the cold calls.

LMAO, when I first started in the lead biz I used to get paid 20% of the L.O's commission under the table. Business was slow in the office and the website was only trickling in leads since it was around 7pm on a Tuesday.

I figured I'd go ahead and turn on the dialer. So unlicensed at 18 years old I started cold calling for mortgage refinancing.

It was one of those autodialers that would just dial a number then you'd talk to whoever answered and they'd have no idea why you called.

I remember around my fifth or sixth call I got someone to take a prequal app and I was so surprised how easy it was.

Those were the days, when consumers couldn't wait to do business with you.

I don't think anyone hung up on me that whole night.

I was also number one for Chicago mortgages and chicago mortgage company so I'd refer them to google if they needed more information. ;)

This is the reason I'm not a millionaire yet, I've just begun exercising any delegation this year. I've got it down for contracting and design, but not for sales guys. It's been rough and honestly, I'm responsible for about 90% of our sales, online or offline.

From my experience I generally think that the natural progression is:

1. Learn what it takes to make money.
2. Start making money alone.
3. Learn how to build a team to make money.
4. Start making money with the team.

This brings me back to something I first came across in highschool:

I've made too much money as an S and need to start focusing on systems I can walk away from (hence, the insurance biz).

good on ya, be warned sales teams are a total pain in the ass 90% of the time, sales guys bitch and moan like teenage girls most of the time. seriously.
that said you'll find one or two who just turn up pick up contacts once a week and turn up at the end of the week with a fucking phonebook of deals, they're the guys you need to find and keep, all they ever bitch about is payouts being too low and clawbacks. much like in am they will accuse you of shaving half the time.
oh yeah and for every 100 sales guys you interview maybe 2-3 will actually be sales guys and closers and not just order takers. big difference as im sure you know.

One thing I would be concerned about, the use of the online contract signing thing may not be a good idea, and it may be better to priority mail them a physical contract to send back to you. It's just that I'm not sure an electronic signature is legally binding, and they may try and ask for things that aren't in the contract, like millions of redesigns, refusing to pay you unless you do it.

LOL, all that's covered. And they pay upfront and it's four pages of clauses.

The contract was written by an attorney and this system is used by banks. ;)

There is work from home cold callers - I belive $10-15 / hr. (I"m sure they wont convert like you do) Really easy to set up, and you can continue working from home. Team Double-Click - Current Virtual Assistant Contractor Opportunites If you ever decide to kick it up a notch.

I actually have an office, I just hate working from there.

The reason I'm still doing most of the sales is because it's tough to train salespeople for SEO. Not because of lack of room or equipment.

I'm going to start a local lead gen company this weekend and use the money from the website sales to start PPC for it.

So do you guys just target local keywords on adwords for leads or is there an option to choose a city or region? If so, I feel like adwords would work a hell of a lot better than facebook for targeting this sort of thing. I have a lot of experience with FB but not so much with adwords.

Just had the best rebuttal ever to "well, how hard are you to get in touch with?"

"I'm talking to you at 11 o'clock on a Friday night."

Booyaah.

That one's going to take a few days to thaw, but I'll get him. That's a PPC management job.

I don't know what you're talking about my good sir.
