I preferred WF from the beginning. However, I did think EF had a lot of potential when it started, but it's kind of dying now. The quality of topics are low and it feels like I'm reading same stuff over and over. I think most people go there for the private section to buy/sell stuff.

EF was pretty decent in the beginning. The information was okay but nothing that could take the average webmaster to the next level. There were WAY too many newbs. In addition to the newbs asking stupid questions, there were newbs that tried to sound like they knew what the fuck they were talking about when replying to those newbs.
Also, off topic but I just heard someone say "WickedFire" for the first time. The COPEAC lady called to confirm my information and was like "And I see you heard from us through Wicked Fire."

Even the way EF looks is gay, especially the top image..i mean come on put some work into the damn forum..

I'll be the first to admit I was wrong about how big the site would grow in terms of popularity, but my quote you have there in my eyes is still dead on.
You still don't have any regular posters who are well respected mature individuals in the webmaster community. when all the other forums you are bashing do.
Why do you think that is? Well consider this..... having nearly 100k posts in a few months is awesome for ANY forum. But the fact that 60% of that 100k is in one forum called Shooting The Shit with a lot of NSFW...well that doesn't scream great webmaster community to me yanno? More like livinghardcore...
I'M NOT SAYING THERE AREN'T GREAT USEFUL POSTS HERE.... Hell it's why I keep coming back to check. It just seemed that you were trying to imply that the majority of your posts here are great and useful webmaster info so I wanted to clear that up for you.... Add on to that 60% another 20% of webmaster related threads that quickly deteriorate to flaming and name calling and you have a handful of great threads left over.
So again congrats on the milestones. No doubt. But around 80% of it isn't even webmaster related, so..... yeah.
Maybe that'll all change when you launch the paid sections in this great community that you said wasn't about the money.

That's actually a really good point I hadn't thought about and kind of take for granted. There is no one here constantly trying to sell crap.
nobody is here trying to sell crap, but we get crap posts from people like GerogeB, not sure if that is better or not!
i hate most forums - and just found WF one day a few months ago when googling 'how to make money with a domain name'. Joined up after reading the arb posts and went from knowing nothing to at least making a few hundred a month - not a bad start IMO! There are tons of great posts here and they have really taken my small biz ideas in a new direction - for a long time I wanted to open a more traditional brick-n-morter place, but couldn't due to a lack of funds - now my biz plans are more the 'start small and build up' - which is more than possible online. Thanks guys!

You're missing an important point: the mix! Having a large diversity of personalities combined with very few forum restrictions is leading to interesting and entertaining interactions - many forums are bland, dull and too restrictive! Is that why you keep coming back?
Afterall, where else would you find SEO tips and porn in the same thread!
