So i'm drunk as FUCK, laying down some beautiful mac sauce (Mcdonalds doesn't have shit on me) on a girl. I went with the "I'm going to be a major stud but not hook up with you tonight" game.. and it worked.

Now you have the backstory.. I'm now laying down some sweet, sweet serenade that even Shakespeare would bow to and I hook her in with "I'm watching a scary movie right now" line and i'm all like "we are going to have an amazing, sensual cuddle sesh before I make sweet, sweet love to you when we watch a scary movie together tomorrow."

Then, I realized i'm watching Hellraiser 2 and this is some fucked up shit. Like, I can't believe how awesome this scary movie is.... then I realize why!

Constraints, such as a lack of "CGI Effects", is what causes an innovator to make the best of her or his situation. Which is why most entrepreneurs embrace problems and embrace constraint (which is why we don't mesh well with dem WAFO/DF folks 'round here).

If you don't get me, then read the motivational book dubbed ReWork by the badass team @ 37 signals... they know business.

Anyways, that was a long drunken/ADD (if you don't got it, money must be hard to make) rant, but what badass Retro (<1980) scary movies do I need to see?

Hellbound: Hellraiser 2 is fucking sick nasty.

I don't want a sophomore slump, give me another fastball to hit out of the park.

The Silence of the Lambs
Texas Chainsaw Massacre
28 Days Later
Jaws
The Shining
Halloween
Evil Dead- Admittedly, more funny than scary
Mothman Prophecies
Seven
Alien
The Others
Silent Hill
Poltergeist
The Hills Have Eyes

To hook up with a girl, I'd recommend 28 Days Later or Halloween. They'll stay into the movie but TOO much and they won't piss their pants either. Really you just need something suspenseful rather than scary.

Duel
Steven spilberg first movie , Great one

ReWork was the worst business book I have ever read, to me it was filled with so much bullshit I couldnt stand it. It's like he came up with a topic and wrote the same shit all over again in 2-5 pages. My 0.02 cents. Maybe it's way too web 2.0 entrepreneur for my type. Some good advice when creating a web company/product but other than that its basically shit. Had to let it out.

Rosemary's Baby which totally lacks bloodshed, but it's as chilling as ever. Even funny in parts.

The Exorcist, if you don't laugh at the campiness

28 Weeks later, full of screaming zombie goodness

The Shining

Carrie

The Exorcist III is outstanding -- it's the actual sequel (pt. II was just some dumbass shit) and was made recently enough that it doesn't have the 70s camp issues of the original. Brad Dourif is completely fucking amazing. There is relatively little gore, and several moments of straight up blood-curdling make you jump up off the couch scariness/suspense.

You can also wow her with your trivia skills by pointing out that the guy who plays Damien Karras in the Exorcist movies is Jason Patric's (of The Lost Boys etc. father; if she goes for that you can also mention that Patric is Jackie Gleason's maternal grandson -- so Patric had two famous relatives who were unrelated to one another.

If you want to get real retro, have a Hitchcock night. Hitchcock isn't really scary (not to this jaded generation) but he still manages to creep me out. Maybe it's just all that 1950 repression goodness going on.
