People fucking suck sometimes

So I'm reading this exaggerated but still pretty sad article on CNN about child labor in Kenya.

Boy earns 1 cent a goat in slaughter trade - CNN.com

And to the right is the NewsPulse of most popular stories.

Ugh. I hate people sometimes.

Yeah shit like that belongs on TMZ not on 'news' websites or papers. After the Pakistan floods the main story on the news here was a Pakistani guy who fixed a cricket match. Shameless.

The cynicism in this thread will later be used to rationalize peddling the scammiest and fakest products that most IM'ers push.

This is going to get flamed like hell (especially here on WF)...

But, I've being doing a lot of research on the science of success, and a common theme is that you will probably not become and stay extremely successful without somehow providing real VALUE for people.

Yeah I know there are millionaires from rebills, and plenty of people on here (including me) made a fuck-ton of money with them. But I was never happy about it and knew it wouldn't last forever. That's a shitty feeling.

Yes, people are stupid.

Yes, someone else will probably fuck them over if it isn't you.

Yes, It might be an easier way to make money for a while.

Look at Bernie Madoff. Sixty five BILLION dollars...and probably living most of his life with the sinking feeling that he was living on borrowed time.

It might be a bit of a stretch comparing rebill type products to Madoff, but in the end it's the same thing. Benefiting off of someone elses misery.

Anyways, I'm phasing out every one of my sites that promote scammy products and changing my focus to promoting and creating legit things that really help people.

I'll let you guys know when I go broke :D

The media has desensitised us from all that. deathtolls from catastrophic events internationally are just statistics and nothing more.
Yup, Jesus spoke about the Last Days in the book of Matthew and said that one sign of The Conclusion of The System of Things would be that " the love of the greater number will cool off "...

In other words, the majority of mankind won't care about each other in epic proportions. Welp, there you go, See it E V E R Y D AY....

You read Linchpin, didn't you?

It's just old news.

People care, but it's the same story over and over

Children are starving, we send money, governments steal money and buy weapons, we send more money......

China will change things over there soon anyway, they send money and chinese people to look after that money to make sure it gets spent on roads and factories.

Locals get jobs, chinese make money on their investment, everybody wins.

This post reminded me of the old book "The Science of Getting Rich"

Do not spend your time in charitable work, or charity movements; all charity only tends to perpetuate the wretchedness it aims to eradicate.

I do not say that you should be hard hearted or unkind, and refuse to hear the cry of need; but you must not try to eradicate poverty in any of the conventional ways. Put poverty behind you, and put all that pertains to it behind you, and "make good."

Get rich; that is the best way you can help the poor.

And you cannot hold the mental image which is to make you rich if you fill your mind with pictures of poverty. Do not read books or papers which give circumstantial accounts of the wretchedness of the tenement dwellers, of the horrors of child labor, and so on. Do not read anything which fills your mind with gloomy images of want and suffering.

You cannot help the poor in the least by knowing about these things; and the wide-spread knowledge of them does not tend at all to do away with poverty.

What tends to do away with poverty is not the getting of pictures of poverty into your mind, but getting pictures of wealth into the minds of the poor.

You are not deserting the poor in their misery when you refuse to allow your mind to be filled with pictures of that misery.

Poverty can be done away with, not by increasing the number of well to do people who think about poverty, but by increasing the number of poor people who purpose with faith to get rich.

The poor do not need charity; they need inspiration. Charity only sends them a loaf of bread to keep them alive in their wretchedness, or gives them an entertainment to make them forget for an hour or two; but inspiration will cause them to rise out of their misery. If you want to help the poor, demonstrate to them that they can become rich; prove it by getting rich yourself.

2012 here we come
According to Jesus at Matthew 24:36 "Concerning that day and hour nobody knows, neither the angels of the heavens nor the Son, but only the Father"

But he does describe the world conditions that would exist at this historical time and the scriptures say we are warned of the SEASON, but we don't know the DAY. It feels and looks like the season to me.

It's pretty fucking awesome. I just finished J. Paul Getty's How To Be Rich and will be reading some Machiavellian stuff soon. Getty is my new guru.

Speaking of Machiavelli--what I can't seem to get past is how people idolize the Scarface/50 Cent/Jay Z attitude of "yo, I hustled crack to achieve my dreams".

Haha no, but Godin probably got that shit from a good chunk of the many books I've been reading lately.

The fact of the matter is the US economy is based on exploiting third world labor. Think people could buy a $6 pair of jeans at walmart if all labor was unionized and paid a living wage? No fuckin way.

I don't see the problem. Kids going to work for food. I see that as a good thing. They get good work ethic, good money value, and maybe grow up into the goat trade themselfs and start earning more money.

"The little money they can earn is a big draw. Most of the children work in Kiamaiko so their families to survive.
Boku and Mohammed's father died five years ago, and after their mother's shop burnt down, she became ill. So at six, Boku became the breadwinner, and soon his younger brother followed."

I think its messed up that they arrest the kids when they are just trying to provide for their family.

I'll just leave this here..

A few years ago, I was recruiting call center agents for a HUGE financial company. The only thing their top brass had to do all day in their offices was play Texas Hold em online and talk to each other about baseball and Nascar. Lower down the totem pole--the middle managers, were mostly minority women who could cut diamonds with the creases of their suits. They had MBA's and spoke using a Six Sigma vocabulary. They always walked around really fast so they looked like they had some important meeting to go to.

This place was socially engineered so that everyone acted like they were in 3rd grade. Colored construction paper maps to different areas of the building. Candy and ipods for rewards. Costume contests on Halloween.

There were 60 year old men acting like children in there.

Here's the rub:

It's no fucking accident that those places are set up like elementary schools.
