Nice but Don't you think guys there is a trick? For example at Godaddy if you buy a dot info is 99Cents as well but then when you renew it is back to $9.99. So I am sure is the same for the new offer...you pay 99 Cents for a new Dot Com but then when you renew it ....is going to be back to the same price.

As much as I don't like GoDaddy, your post is idiotic. Why else do you think they'd be running this special? It's not a trick, it's an enticement for people to use their services (and a fairly standard and effective one at that).

As a note to speedyj's post, the original slickdeals post has been added to include these two other codes:

Other Codes:
# Get .COM / .NET / .ORG Domains for $1.99 w/Coupon 199TEST
# Save 30% off Domain Renewals w/Coupon ZINE3
The first one for when the promotion is over. The second one just because.

Maybe he was trying to say that godaddy puts you in a contract after you use the deal, stating that you must renew the domain once the year is over for the full price.

Or maybe not..

Nice. But how much for private registration? Another 7 bucks or some bullshit? I've been transferring all my GoDaddy domains to Namecheap like a week before they expire.

Repped. Goddamn, I always miss out on this stuff. Time to think of some domains...

I don't know what you guys use, but for checking out new domains I like to use:

Domain Name Generator and Search - MakeWords.com
-good for finding word combinations or just available, brandable, short domains

Domain Search - BustAName
-God bless Ajax, I'm too lazy to click a button to quickly check domain availability

I was skeptical about godaddy but I gave them a try and they're ok. Not the best but ok. I'd use them again.

Can't beat the price
