The president will be announcing his plan to protect the american citizens from themselves in about an hour.
They will be joined by a group of children who wrote letters to the president in the aftermath of the December 14 shooting rampage by a lone gunman who killed 20 students and six adults at a Newtown, Connecticut, elementary school, Carney said.

It wont be long, we will soon be safe. Just like the guys in New York after their state passed great measures to protect themselves.

Why don't we take a closer look at giving kids ssris? Maybe we wouldn't have so many people growing up to be mass murders.

^^ Like I said in other threads, calm down, and wait to see what he does. Those 23 executive orders are hardly anything to be worried about.

What a bunch of pandering fluff... Although #13 is as open to interpretation as you could imagine.

Also, #14 makes me wonder if the president smokes crack, but I'm ok with it.

Lots about mental health here, so all in all, this is a far better solution than what we were thinking it would be. He never said anything about Assault Weapons, so Feinsteinn and he people are left out cold.

...Still, #13 really makes me wonder.

Those 23 EO's are going to be used to further demonize guns. In 1 or 2 generations you will see the true damage of those EO's.

They seem pretty fair and reasonable to me, and they seem to align with your retort against most of my arguments: clean up all the holes in the current laws rather than introduce new regulations.

The goal seems to be to close all the loopholes and enforce better tracking of gun owners and gun sales (again, just like the DMV does for vehicles).
 
This could be worse. We'll see what congress does, but I have a feeling they've decided that pushing to hard for a ban will cause a massive loss of seats in the house of reps in 2 years like it did after the 1994 ban, otherwise he would have mentioned something about 'working with house leadership to determine types of guns civilians can own.'

I have no problem with enforcing existing laws. These EO's are going to discourage people from getting proper medical care. They will fear being put on a list, which will prohibit beign able to purchase a firearm. Clear violations of HIPPA privacy.

The CDC has demonized firearms for over 20 years. You will start to see anti gun propaganda on the door at the doctors office. These "studies" will be used to scare children and make them fear firearms, make firearms dirty.

My biggest problem with these EO's will be the further categorization of people the .gov does not find as acceptable gun owners. The criteria may start off broad. But as time & technology goes by that list will get larger and larger.

This does very little to get the guns out of criminals hands. It does nothing about Big Pharma drugging our population and creating a nation of zombies.

I could go on and on but I have letters to write to my congressmen.
