Mental disorders aren't clear cut. Anyone can be declared mentally incompetent. And they are lowering the standards of what constitutes a mental disorder every day.
Soon enough, if you sneeze, you will be declared mentally incapable of handling a gun. Unless you are born to the right family. Anyone who thinks these rules are fine was expecting something so heinous they can't see the heinousness in this. That doesn't mean this stops being another huge step back.
And NONE of this addresses the real issues at hand. Which is; the social system that handles teenagers. Nothing was addressed as to fixing the root, just bandaids (i.e. if we push people until they snap, lets make sure that when they snap, it doesn't affect us. Not, why are people snapping and how can that be changed...)

That's pretty correct, but at the same time he's a parasite, his very existence depending on their gullibility.
There isn't a good example of this in nature; no parasites that can control the environments around their hosts to do this... Sounds like it'd make for some good sci-fi.
