Fuck it doesn't take long for a forum to take off, I was part of a new website way back in November of 2006 the forum is called Helium Knowledge, well its not really a forum its a website where you can advance your writing skills and earn some pennies doing it (Yes I mean pennies like $25 a month for 100+ articles).
Anyway the point to this is that in November of 06 they were just barely breaking 40,000 members so in 8 months they managed to gain about 104,000 new members to their site.
The point to all of this is that the site is so fucking simplistic, its like Google's home page, no real effort after the first creation of the site, fully user generated & all earnings seem to be from Adsense as far as I know.
This is more of a ramble then anything but simply put 104,000 members inside of 8 months means a lot of fucking cash for that site. I've really got to focus more on user generated content & simple ideas.
