No one has ever thrown a knife a distance of 10ft and injured the person he/she threw it at. EVER.

Oh please, the cop shot because he was afraid the guy was going to throw a knife at him? C'mon. At 10-20 feet, the angle of the bus in relation to the officer, he could have likely moved very easily. Trigger happy bro, trigger happy.

You also conveniently didn't answer the part of looking past distinctions... if it was a little old lady doing the shooting, you'd probably be in her favor.

Imagine this:
A little old lady yelling and shouting at a man to drop a knife, while he was in a bus posing no threat to her safety, then shoots him 10+ times simply because he failed to comply after X requests... Yeah, I'd be against her too.

@ the vehicle being empty, I don't think the vehicle was just parked empty int he middle of the street and the guy got on and started making threatening gestures. And it wasn't exactly charging, but he was not complying and moving around; when someone has a knife, is making threats and moves around fast

, and you have a gun... I'm guessing you are going to use your gun. And if you shoot once to just injure, you are retarded. Not only will you get sued, but the guy with the knife can still do you damage when injured.

Maybe the judicial system needs changed? Maybe you shoot the guy enough to the point at which he's fallen down, rendering him unable to pose a serious threat by throwing the knife.. Maybe you do that, and just to be sure, throw in flash bang and some tear gas. Send in SWAT with masks and protective gear. They have the equipment, us citizens happily pay for it!

But nah, that would be too much work. Why work hard when your job is monopolized and paid for by a never ending source of monies?
