2012

Exactly. They didn't predict the Spanish coming to slaughter them all very well, so why do we think they can predict the end of the entire human species?

Actually they did predict this. They had a myth that a God would arrive from across the sea. When this happened it was supposed to be the end of their civilisation. This is the reason why they took little action to defend their country.

I read a book on Edgar Cayce once and he knew all kinds of weird shit. He said in 2012 just before it all kicked off there would be lots of trouble in the middle east and the magnetic poles would be flipping. Well folks, this is happening right now and he wrote that book circa 1960.

Make of it what you will.

The actual Mayan calendar doesn't scare me. What I'm afraid of is that some nutjobs can actually do something stupid, as they're affected by the hype of "2012". And you can't predict what a fanatic or a nutjob can actually accomplish. /tinfoil

Lots of talk out there about poleshift. 10 months to go.

What do the wf scientists think about poleshift?

Here's what I've read (in brief) I'm not believing it entirely, just sharing what I have read.

Earth passes above and below the galactic equator every 26,000 years and pole reversals always happen at that time.

These pole reversals are known as "yugs" in hindu scriptures. Mayas also had knowledge of these galactic events. There's also talk of this in the bible.

Adding to the 26k years cycle is the planet Nibiru, also known as Planet X, which passes near the earth every 3600 years. The time when it is passing near the earth is now matching with the 26k years cycle.

What could happen if the pole shift happens?

Poles will be reversed, and in short:

Most satellites will fail. Most electronics will fail (beyond recovery)

Massive floods, earthquakes, volcanoes, cracks in earth crust similar to what was in the movie 2012

Most importantly, the earth's magnetic field which protects the earth from sun's harmful rays will be gone. The rays will kill plants, animals and ultimately humans.

I guess every 2500 year astrological event that we know of must be TEOTWAWKI (the end of the world as we know it) sorry been watching this stupid doomseday prepers on net geo and I have found 1 commonoality between all these whack jobs pushing fro TEOTWAKI they have all had major life events cancer, dead kid, ect. The only thing thats going to happen is a couple of new stars will be out that youll only be able to see from some remote wetback area of mexico not the smog covered skies of most of the rest of the world

I'm no scientist, but I'll put it this way. If that was all true, then the human civilization would of had to start over every 26,000 years, and I'm quite certain it hasn't. Well, unless you're a nutcase and believe the Earth is only 6000 years old.

Satellites don't depend on the earth's magnetic field for anything, orbit maintenance, orientation (pointing and positioning), power generation. They use thrusters and reaction wheels to manuever and point, gyros and star maps to orient, solar panels and batteries for power. They are all above the atmosphere so are constantly blasted with the full force of solar and cosmic radiation. So how would they fail?

Terrestrial electronics also don't depend on the earth's magnetic field for anything, except those used for turning your smartphone into a compass. The types of radiation that damage electronics are total dose, single event upset inducing high energy particles and prompt dose. The last one only comes from nuclear events. Total dose is the build up of substrate charge from lower energy particles and it is the atmosphere not the magnetic field that provides most of the shielding. Ignoring low energy alpha particles which are a problem if someone packaged a device of system poorly, SEUs come from cosmic rays which are so high energy that they usually pass right through the atmosphere and earth's crust with only minor deflection by the magentic field. So how would they fail?

I'm asking because maybe there is something I'm missing. I used to work on satellite electronics and radiation hardening so I'm familiar with the issues.

I'd suggest you not to limit shit to what some scientists in a university can prove.. There's more to the universe than just hit-and-trial equations.. Also, note that I'm not saying I believe all of what I'm saying, it is just what I have read

A possible scenario is, before the catastrophe is to happen, a copy of each specie (or cool species) is somehow taken to a secure place. When shit is finally stable, all the life forms slowly catch up again... Check this out Noah's Ark - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Before the catastrophe happened, a copy of each one was secured. Now if the 2012 doomsday is to happen, you can imagine some intelligent aliens to come save few of us so we don't perish forever.

Just because we humans think we are intelligent, doesn't mean there isn't something 250x more intelligent out there.. if you think so, its just that you are another narrow minded, egoistic, arrogant, fuck-everyone-else kind of person..

^ That's cool but I'm not sure of the technicalities involved there though I do have a tech degree..

Also, power outage may occur and you may need to shield electronics

Seems to be a funny video. Will watch later.. Don't take anything personally. I'm only sharing what I've read just to fill up some voids for those who aren't much aware what doomsday theorists are talking about.

I don't believe in this 2012 bs, but most people have had a major life event at some point. I can say that with about as much certainty as I can say that you had an accident involving water when you were younger, that sticks in your memory whenever you think back to your childhood.

If the Mayans were that smart, they wouldn't have all died off.

they didn't die nigga, they ascended to another dimension, just like the ancient Egyptians, people of Atlantis, ancient monks and other enlightened dudes. Didn't you know that shit? When you're very smart, you ascend... just like a video game, you beat Level 1, you get to Level 2. We niggas is all stuck in level 1 still. :banana_sml:
