A Boss Who Tells It Like It Is

Did any of you actually read the whole thing? The guy's in Australia.

And if you read the replies , you'd note some people mentioned that some of the basic things said would equally apply here in the US.

Anyways it wouldn't surprise me if this email is an altered/edited version of an original that was spread around the net a couple thousand times (and who knows was tweaked a lil more from there to get a point across).

But simply put, some people are where they are, because they made wise choices and sacrifices not necessarily because they're greedy corporate moguls. And thats a general truth in most parts of the world.

Great email. I totally agree with him. The gangbankers are purposefully destroying the middle class and rewarding failure as this email describes. It doesn't matter what country you're in, this is going on internationally with the most prosperous countries being the targets. It's sad that so many people have fallen victim to the life of debt based luxury, but whatever... let the world be as it is.

I agree with erect about the car. I think him pointing out the Subaru shows that despite having a successful business he still lives within his means.

All will be well when get over the notion that because you exist, someone else should pay your way.

I see a great return to chastity and well-being if our governments announced they were cancelling benefits to unwed mothers and people on invalidity benefits within one year; if you get up the duff or too fat to work after that, you're on your own.

Bailing out business failures is stupid too. Now the public are going to be saddled with huge debt, instead of those who deserve to go under. Put all the crap debt in a toxic bank, hire some savage credit controllers to sit on it and get whatever they can out of it, and move on.

I perceive that there are people who are not as smart or as well-read as me running Western democracies; this saddens and frightens me.

"Gangbankers" is where all this shit is revolving and spitting out of. Bankers and their fucking greed and obsession with power and money. Yay!

Had the government suddenly mandated to me that I didn't need to pay taxes, guess what? Instead of depositing that $288,000 into the Canberra black-hole, I would
have spent it, hired more employees, and generated substantial economic
growth. My employees would have enjoyed the wealth of that tax cut in the
form of promotions and better salaries.

This is where the breakdown is. Research has shown that this trickle down theory, on a large scale, just doesn't happen. That's why the top 1% control 90% of the wealth.

LOL Republicans are like battered wives. No matter how badly they are beaten and taken advantage of, the master can do no wrong.

Might be a cathartic and catchy dev. domains. Pics of all the investment banking bosses who've gotten off scot free, perfect with the bb wolf review plugin where you can rate how weful you think folks like:

I think the point is that government sometimes has it backwards. The economy scares everyone but probably scares business owners more. Especially those who make over a certain amount as those are the people who are being forced to further pay for the irresponsibility of others.

I can relate to the story, as a business owner i am afraid to grow knowing i am going to be further taxed and any growth i achieve will be be outweighed by the extra taxes the government is going to impose on me in 2010. Why continue to hire people if its going to cost even more to do so?

The letter was written by an Austrailian but it does apply for the US too. We all have friends who live beyond their means and have no idea how they will pay their credit cards and dont care if they ever pay off their debt. Instead they waste money on items they cant afford, get fired, and feed off the government nipple which is funded by those who lived in their means and worked their ass off to build a savings only to watch their savings get taken away from them in the form of higher taxes to pay for the irresponsibility of others.

I dont think things are going to get better for this country, i think we are headed for an all out depression that could last up to 4 years. A lot of people are going to get hurt, crime is going to spike and innovation will be stiffled, luckily the word has the same issues as us if not worse so we shouldnt lose what little edge we have in the global economy.

The letter is spot on. I would like to see Obama give up his $400K salary and the staff he has, it would probably save the country 10-15Mil a year. Does he really need a personal chef? let alone a team of them?

It is worse in Canada. Over $126,000, we pay 43% tax. Not to mention our GST+PST(13%), property tax. Most of these money goes to the homeless and poors that do not have a job.

is it true... ?

The taxes are true, my apartment was 710k and I pay like $500+ a month in property taxes, my "salary" is around 8k a month $3200 of which goes to the feds and between government sales tax and provincial sales tax im sure I pay at least another $500, so all in all I probably pay around 5k a month in personal taxes, let alone my corp.

There's potholes all done my road (Bloor St for those of you in Toronto, which is a major street in the biggest city in Canada for those who aren't here), go to the hospital and you have to wait for hours, my sister pays something like 2k a month for private school cause the public school system is a joke, I could go on, but you get the point... we pay taxes out the ass and all of the services government is suppose to provide are sub par.

Meh, the "boss" sounds so higher then thou -- wow, you own a company, big fucking whoop. I bet he's an overweight fat douchebag banging dickboys in Thailand during his retirement.

Instead of writing that email, he could've done something more productive -- say, feeding the pigeons.

He's a melodramatic cunt ...

WTF... you guys are paying so much tax... for heaven sake.

Couple other tid bits to add to the other canadian posters comments list - auto insurance, traffic tickets and how they effect each other:

ICBC - Driver licensing - Tickets and other penalties - Fines and points chart

ICBC - Driver licensing - Tickets and other penalties - Tickets

If you drive on the sidewalk = $81. fine + 2 penalty points, which is less than other offenses on the actual road.

So, in essence, it's cheaper to drive down the sidewalks ;)

A friend got a $175.- ticket the other day for walking through a skytrain terminal to buy a pack of smokes without having a train ticket. He had no intention of boarding the train - just stopping through to buy cigs from the kiosk.

anyhoo....... off topic......

wow canada sucks a huge dick

I saw we just level those sons of bitches out, worthless communists
