Adult affiliate site... is it worth it

im looking for advise about my adult affiliate site.... the product is adult toys, xxx dvds, live webcam and vod.

im new to affiliate marketing and dont want to end up getting ripped off by every seo peddlar under the sun.

does any one have an adult affiliate site and if so how to you market/promote your site? id rather invest time and get it right than throw a load of money down the drain

Tough market to tap into. Unless you can provide some really unique (not like such a thing exists anymore) content, you're going to have some difficulty in getting off the ground.

Without seeing your site and only knowing what you've said about it, you may want to split up your site into two different sorts. Your toy store and your actual content site.

If you can shoot your own quality content you may want to consider content brokers.

If you're intent on building an adult affiliate site aside from having frequent updates, as far as marketing is concerned your best bet is to become your own affiliate or hire a seasoned adult webmaster to help promote your sites.

Creating tons of free hosted galleries and spreading them throughout the normal outlets (tgps, blogs, etc) can get yourself some recognition from other webmasters that are always searching through for unique and unsaturated offers.

You also may want to check out some other adult webmaster forums (Not GFY) for some advice.

thanx ataraxy thats great advise- content does eem to be key so if i can get enough traffic to my content site with a link thru to my product store i might have some success

from what i can tell theres more of a market for adult than anything else on the net so ive got more chance with this than anything else (unless i can come up with some genius idea that will make me millions but lets face it this aint gonna happen!!!)

it hasnt cost me anything so far so its worth a try

its a hard niche, might as well start a porn site rather get them atticted to something =]. easier to promote free, than have someone buy something.
