It's that time of the month again... for the forum, not your imaginary girlfriends.

AFFILIATE SUMMIT WEST 2008 IN VEGAS is heading our way on Feb 24-26 at the Rio Hotel.

I'm sure you can figure that out being we have the banner ad on here. Doh!

Here's what we have in store for you kids this time around..

The Top Ten Reasons You Need To Be At Affiliate Summit West 2008 in Vegas:

1- Free semi-offensive WF style tshirts, as expected! (there will be a new thread and poll about this soon)

2- VIP WickedFire party on Sunday, Feb 24th at the Palms with Copeac.

3- Win a FREE exhibitor-floor conference pass for the show through us, we have 100 of them to waste on you guys!

4- You damn well know there will be at least one WickedFire member who will make the mistake of drinking far too much and acting strange, so be sure to bring your cameras, because a Jeremy Estes Part 2 would be great to catch!

5- We don't have a booth this time! Reason: No one wanted to do booth duty!

6- Possible WickedFire treasure hunt on the exhibitor floor (this of course needs a responsible person to plan it, and we are so incapable of that, so there's a good chance we won't follow through).

7- Possible co-sponsored official Affiliate Summit parties with other brands/companies.

8- Today's letter is R and today's number is 13.

9- It's fuckin Vegas! Lots of hot chicks and even more semi-hot chicks that get hotter by 10am when you've had six more beers than you did for breakfast the day before at home!!

10- Azoogle and Copeac have their booths directly side by side, and since they despise one another, there may be a hockey style electricity in the air. Cmon, FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT!!

The real and only reason:
You shouldn't need a top 10 list of reasons to go. It's Affiliate Summit West for crying out loud. Definitely the most fun show of all of them! The one in Miami was BY FAR THE MOST FUN AND BEST show of the entire industry for the whole year! Get more networking done to help your business connections list, plus you will make SOOOO much more cash just from the euphoric sensation you get from it.

I've decided to go.

Will be 100% on camera live streaming on Ustream for netstartup.tv.

Now I'm just trying to figure out if I want to be the nerd with the camera on his head or not...

I really really want to go, but why? I have no AM/IM skills yet... Ive made like, a few hundred bucks online, over a few months... I have no sites @ the moment...

I pretty much suck @ this at the moment... So I really have nothing to offer/contribute.

If I did go, it would only be for fun. :(

Is there really learning potential? Forgive my stupidity, Ive never been to a conference/summit type deal before... I just picture tons of people handing out cards and promoting things... But if there is a good deal of shit to be learned, then as long as my schedule allows for it, Im in!

last year ASW totally changed my perspective on AM. It's deffenatley worth going just to learn. Think about it, its like chatting on WF but much more trust cause your in person and a lot more looseness because your drunk. I learned more at ASW than any other event I've been too

edit: also people are willing to let go of techniques in small groups that they would neeeever think about posting on an open forum

i've learned more *not* inside the conference - it's about networking and meeting new people to do business with

damn kave....do you got to keep rubbing it in?
:)

ASW is definitely a great show for networking and meeting new people. If you can get the chance to go you should. Dont let the cost get in the way, from what you learn you'll be able to make back the cost within a month or two.

Also the parties are great, i dont know if there is any official party or any party open to the public, but Copeac and WF will be having a sick VIP party in the palms like Jon said. As we get close we will let out some details to WF members only.

if you're building your affiliate sites mainly through reading blogs, forums and IMing a couple of guys, you're missing out on a huge chunk of the biz.

like mike says, a huge chunk of your learning comes from the face-to-face contact building and networking, and follow up after the event...

I got a lot of insight from talking to guys like smaxor and ILC at ASW earlier this year (2007!), and your trip pays for itself in your increased earnings easily 10x or 100x over (only if you act on it though)...

besides the affiliate summit, you might want to check out ad:tech and SES, pubcon and possibly SMX too.

Although I've got a full speaker's pass for ASW08, it's taking me 20+ hours to fly from singapore and more than $2k for travel and room and board, but the value I'd get from it is way more than what it's costing...

plus if you're lucky, you get to meet laura alter and planet andrea too.............
and I think lauren?

What are the prices for admission? I checked the website and I couldn't find anything. Also are those classes they have worth checking out?
