Aged Obama? Interesting Ad.

This really strikes the leaders where it hurts the most: their legacy.

Oh bullshit. They are mostly con men and criminals. They lie and connive to steal with special interests, and only pay lip service to their constituents when it is election time.

Politicians don't give a shit about their legacy, the state always takes care of the historical accounts to make their actors look like heroes, whether they lie, cheat, steal, murder etc.

My god, let's all try to be adults about this. Generally, the best of society don't go into politics. The worst do.

Amen... fuck 'em all!

Huh?

All I'm saying is politicians are selfish like all humans... (and worried about their own self-image/legacy)

But you're saying it doesn't matter because all history is scrubbed anyway?

I thought they were good ads regardless of your view on climate change, it forces us all to think... We have to think (take action) now rather than later (assuming it's real), this message applies to everyone, really.

But yeah, maybe when the world is fucked someday (not saying it'll happen) Obama will take comfort in editing the history books... This ad simply says, maybe we should have taken it more seriously (from our future selves view).

Now, how to apply something like that to my niche(s).

This.

You don't understand. They don't give a fuck about their legacy, just like the people promoting rebills don't give a shit about the FTC.

Politicians are the worst short term thinkers, because they don't even own their legacy, the state takes control of the dialog, and what is taught about them and what is not.

I thought they were good ads
Absolutely, they appeal to people on an emotional level, and prey on guilt and fear. Works kickass. If you found yourself moved, you were just manipulated. Congrats. Want some acai berries?

We always have to think now, the real question is whether it is real, or whether this is all clever marketing. If the science is so compelling, why is this level of propaganda required?

I was just remarking to someone on AIM this afternoon, that marketers are just as easy to market to as anyone else. Check out the recent STS thread on dieting. 90% of the responses recommended fad diets/workouts and supplements, instead of eating healthy and changing habits.

Politicians are the worst short term thinkers, because they don't even own their legacy, the state takes control of the dialog, and what is taught about them and what is not. They have no incentive to manage their future any more than someone has to save for retirement, when they are promised a big fat pension regardless of how they spend their money now.

Presidents have a lot of control over their legacy. Not how/what/when is reported, but what will the substance be of those things that are reported.

Unless the state fabricates elements of his legacy...in reality he has the MOST control over his legacy. All conspiracies aside.

Their actual legacy (the actual truth of the matter) is independent of how any one state reports it. (hence, they should care, but not necessarily do) (also putting aside the fact that legacy is all about how it's reported and irrespective of the actual truth of the matter, nevertheless people/humans/politicians themselves should care about the actual true nature of their legacy.)

(Are we talking about the U.S.??)

Congrats to me? I'm not even convinced of the magnitude anthropogenic factors play in climate change.

We always have to think now, the real question is whether it is real, or whether this is all clever marketing.

Whether climate change is real or whether man has caused it? Yes, let's think now about it. A lot.

Yes, it's clever marketing.

Of course they need one hell of an ad campaign to push this. If global warming/climate change/the sky is falling was a legitimate cause, they wouldn't have to do much convincing.

Just another Madison Avenue advertising campaign, much like Obama's run for President was - Follow the money, it can be very telling.

It totally amazes me the number of liberal fanboys in a community full of so called marketing entrepreneurs.

I quote my bro papajohn:
it's a wonder some of you don't fall for your own landing pages
