Alarm Clocks

I'm in the market for a new alarm clock, something about using my iPhone as my primary alarm seems unsettling (even though it's rock solid).

I currently have an older iHome unit (never did use the damn iPod feature on it). Its tuning controls no longer function even half normally so it's a real pain in the ass to do anything on anymore.

Preferably looking for something with decent audio quality (listen to a lot of radio), big numbers (blind as fuck without my contacts in), and adjustable brightness. A remote would be nice also.

What the hell do you guys use to wake up?

I use my iPhone. I set about 15 alarms to go off every 7 minutes each with different alarms, followed by my default ringtone (a F/A 18E Super Hornet Flyby) so I think the alarms have stopped and someone is calling.

I also set the Alex Jones radio app alarm to go off about 20 minutes after my default ringtone alarm goes off. Now, I don't like Alex Jones... Or think he makes any sense, but the sound of him yelling in my room ALWAYS wakes me up.

Yeah, that reminds me of what I have on my iPhone. It might not help you but the OP you mentioned you had an iPhone. Buy "Sleep Cycle". Best 99 cents I have spent in a while.

I used sleep cyle as well. But having it always on in the background is somewhat scary. to me. Not sure why.

Anyway, i use my iphone as an alarm clock.
But if you are looking for a dock, try the Sony iphone dock. good sound quality and allows your iphone to charge. It has a radio and alarm clock function.

I just use the one on my phone, but I wanted to take it and throw it through the window this morning . Anything that is loud and reliable should do.

I use my Droid, and that fucker is loud as hell. It's impossible to sleep through. The options they have for alarm rings are incredibly annoying.

Yeah man it is pretty sweet. It is actually scary how it works. But anyways, I found this for you Smart Alarm Clock for Android hopefully it works out for you because it is amazing what you can accomplish in a day where you feel rested versus tired and lethargic.

I just set the Bell Tower tone on my iPhone and am good to go. But I wake up to just about anything after 4am.

I've been looking to try that smart sleep system thing. What are ya'lls feedback on it who have it?

I have a three year old - she wakes us up every day between 6:30 and 7:00 without fail.
