Sounds like a good deal. I spent about 650 (500 business + 150 individual) plus more for a bunch of contractors i use.

I also provided them with a summary of everything typed out.

Pay for a CPA. Always. Period. Mine is charging me $500 this year and I couldn't think of a better deal in town, even though this is the most expensive shop in town.

back to topic:
I paid $500 last year and $650 this year. I just gave them my estimated total revenue and expense and he did the journal entries for me. Don't about the US but we are suppose to keep a book for business in Canada so don't think I paid too much. You can also ask tax questions that you would normally paid for.

Every year I pay about $700ish to get my done and am pissed that it costs so much. But every year I weigh the peace of mind I get from having them do it and knowing it's done right and it's worth it.

Bad accountant - take your shit, do your tax and got it done without asking you a single question.

Good accountant - ask you all kinds of questions that annoys the hell out of you because he/she tried to save you as much money as possible.
