What do you think is going to happen when the US government puts an extra 2 billion dollars into the system every day? If the US government used the same accounting standards as corporations the national debt comes out to over $500,000 per household.

Every election year, people talk so much shit about politics and making the United States better and how fucked up the war is and all that crap. I'm so fucking sick of it. Sure, the United States seems all fucked up in so many ways but what do YOU do besides waste your time debating? Oh I forgot... you vote twice a decade.

If you're not getting off your ass and volunteering in the community... going to a homeless shelter, mentoring underpriveledged youth, doing SOMETHING then you are a part of the problem, too. Sure... freedom of speech and all that crap... you CAN say what you want to. But politicians can only do so much (and usually don't do anything). If people would shut the fuck up about their personal politics, ranting and raving about all the ills and negatives in the nation, and instead donated that time to community service then half of the USA's problems would fix themselves.

The politicians run the country but the people ARE the country. I fucking hate 99% of these two partied puppets but there are PLENTY of things you can do to improve the country (or your neighborhood), WITHOUT their help, besides bitch and moan.

It's no different than internet marketing you can talk all you want and read all you want to and learn all you want to but if you don't get off your ass and start working your ass off on websites then you won't make shit. Well we need to get off our asses and become responsible citizens and actually do some SERVICE to our community.

Violence, drugs, poverty, pollution.... pick your issue and volunteer...

Sorry for the ranting it just bugs me how everyone has the solution to the worlds problems come election time. But these same people have never done a goddamn thing to help the world besides complain. So do something about it...

Maybe you are already but just based on numbers... I highly doubt it. And, I don't mean to criticize anyone. Just light a fire under your ass and maybe put things in a bit of perspective. We CAN turn the country and world around without politicians if people realize they can make a difference themselves.... and sacrifice to help others.

I absolutely agree. Everybody up there in Washington is either way out of touch or don't care to listen to anyone. This latest immigration bill is the perfect example. Almost all constituents are opposed to it, yet they are trying to ram it down our throats.

We need a lot less government and regulation in our lives and we need these idiots up there to stop spending so damn much.

My issue is that I think people need to differentiate between America and the US government. Two totally different things.

The government is not a corporation, nor a household so the same accounting rules CANNOT be used to record liabilities. Typical hogwash issued by the press that has absolutely no bearing on reality except to spread fear among the population that they "owe" $500, 000 .
 
Good post. Change starts with the individual, your home, and local community. But you've also raised a good point, many of us won't do anything about our problems, let alone debate it on the internets.

I got my first check a few weeks ago, i've not cashed it in yet becouse i'm lazy, but:
it's $40 = €30 or so
and cashing in costs are €18 soooo durrrrr
€12 left for me yay, €22 would sound a lot better if you americans just fixed up your economy and the rate 1:1 and not 1.30:1 -.- ;x
