It's a good idea for Google - it will stop the bloggers bitching about content farms.
The average user doesn't really care that much, and they click on the Google Adsense ads on eHow which make Google money anyway.
It's in Google's interests to have the search results filled with MFA sites which are just good quality enough to stop users defecting. That way, users click, then click through a paid link on the MFA site, G gets 35% commission.
Then they ensure the really compelling content is on the ads on the right, for which Google gets 100%.
So MFA sites are fine, as long as you have a spiffy corporate looking design so that the sheeple don't think it's webspam. After all, they're happy enough with meaningless filler content coming out of their TV every night, so why expect more from the web?
