Preface: The movie "American Graffiti" was filmed in 1973, the majority of it was filmed in downtown Petaluma, California. It starred such people as Richard Dreyfuss, Ron Howard, Harrison Ford and Cindy Williams - Was also directed by none other then George Lucas

For the last couple years to celebrate American Graffiti being filmed in Petaluma, there has been a large car show and cruise in downtown Petaluma all located around the area used for the majority of the filming.

Yesterday, it happened again, cars lined up and cruised around downtown for everyone to see... I went down there with my girlfriend and a few other people to drool over the awesome cars and take pictures...

You can find pictures of the event and many car closeups at my site... They arent in any particular order, there may be a few doubles and I think a few other random ones slipped in like my girlfriends ass, local PD motorcycles and a few others...

If your a gearhead or like classic cars, then you will definitely be interested in this...

Thats cool LazyD, I really like petaluma its gotten really big within the last 10 years with the cost of housing pushing everyone out of the bay area, but petaluma has done a great job at keeping it's small town feel, their downtown is still a really awesome, I wish I had been their this weekend I've never heard about that, maybe next year I'll get off my ass and go.

Miguel, where abouts are you from?

I do agree that Petaluma has seen extreme growth. With the amount of new construction on the downtown area and number of houses popping up it is becoming quiet a popular area. I also agree that the town in general has done a great job keeping the small town feel. The main downtown area where the car show was held has continued to grow, especially with the new theatre, new apartments/lofts and new offices going up it is definitely an area that is always busy...

Maybe I should have renamed this thread, not getting alot of attention...Can a mod do me a favor and put "Car show" or "Hot rod show" in the title some where :)

I live in fremont, but I work and used to live in Richmond, so I know most of the bay area really well. I would have thought there would be more bay area people on here but I have only seen a few so far.

Ah cool cool, I used to work for Safeways IT department, used to drive to Livermore everyday from Petaluma, go through Richmond, Oakland and out to the East Bay....

Yea, I know theres a few Cali people, but I would have expected more local Bay area people too...
