(Another fitness thread) - Added 25+ lbs to my bench press in 7 weeks

I used to bench 220, but after spraying myself with a complex combination of Axe body spray and Diesel cologne, I'm easily pushing 300 now. I'm thinking of throwing in the Mustang cologne for an extra +30 lbs.

On a real note, just getting back into lifting now. :P

Just before this lift I was prepping all day with a popped collar

I call bullshit. I just drenched myself in Axe and Drakkar Noir, and I didn't see any noticeable improvement.

However, the mail lady is all on my nuts now.

I'm going to call bullshit on this post. I know lifters that have lifted for years that bench sub-300, and these guys dead over 400 and squat over 300. In grade 10 your hormones are still all sideways, and unless you were the biggest motherfucker in the school, there's just no way you were lifting 270, sorry (unless you're talking chest press/pec deck, which doesn't count).

Also, I wanted to comment that size and strength aren't related in any linear sense.

Good lift OP, 330 is an impressive lift. I'm benching 245 2 x 8 at the moment, aiming to hit 265 by the end of February. Eat, lift, sleep, grow. :)

Bench aside, what's your dead/squat? My bench has always been my weakpoint, but my squat/dead are lethal. Currently deading 425 (2x8), squatting 370 (2x8). :D

Dude 270 isn't that impressive when you are in 10th grade. I was on my school's weightlifting team when I was in 10th grade and this freshmen from another school pause benched (hold on your chest till the person says up) 390 at 14 years old. I did 280 back then and still had plenty of guys ahead of me.

My best max now is 395 and my friend when he was 18 did 430. But we have both been lifting since we entered highschool

damn i could never get past 255 on the bench cause of my lanky ass arms.

Yeah, bench presses suck for tall people. I'm 6'1" with a +2 ape index and could never do more than 245 x 7 reps. That was closegripped tho, as an elbow injury at the time wouldn't allow the regular bench range of motion.

Deadlifts, on the other hand, are good for us tall fuckers. Don't have to bend over so far.

Nice! Glad to see so many gym rats among the affiliate population. The industry is not exactly conducive to activity.

I lift often, but stick mostly to Crossfit-like training programs with a heavy dose of bodyweight exercises like pull-ups (I have a bar in my doorway. Great way to get off the computer for a second and work a little activity into the day). My bench is 135, which, for a 128 lb woman, I'm happy with.

P.S. I bet you'd hit 350 if you tried Force Factor for a free trial.
Thats bullshit. DO NOT USE FORCE FACTOR. I know an extra from 300 who finally told me the secret formula.

First, Acai
Then, Colon Cleanse
Then, Fleshlight

Seems unreasonable, but I'm also one guy. I don't know everything, so I retract my statement.

Key is to learn how to roll your shoulders back so they almost touch and form a V with your arms. @ 5'7 I don't have this problem... but its good form for powerlifting and will help with the problem of long arms as well.

yessir. even if you don't have long arms you need to keep your shoulder blades pinched together through the full range of motion or you are gonna fuck yourself up and limit your strength and size gains by taking emphasis off your chest and putting it on your delts and tris.

If you put a JDM sticker on your body, you can get 5 extra horsepower. I'm not sure how that converts into lbs though.
