I've always liked the idea thrown around here that when we call someone a peasant, it refers to a state of mind, rather than how much money is in the bank. I would also include people that like to show off their wealth with flashy things as peasants as well. Straight up ghetto-bling mentality.

But what's your money worth if you don't let everyone around you know you have it?

I think I know one person that fits the bill of the second part.

The other day, I was thinking about volunteering to help teach underprivileged children to learn how to read. And just thinking aboout it was the most rewarding experience I've ever had.

Reality is even if he bought a Ferrari or a Bugatti. He would still be living under his means. I think stuff just doesn't make them happy. Money on the other hand can exchanged for human labor / hours / life. There just collecting as much of that as they can; for sport.

These guys are innovators, wealth creators and philanthropists, they are experienced enough to know that kind of lifestyle not only hurts you but won't bring you happiness.

And the kind of people that 'make it rain', blow tons of money on toys and houses and do retarded shit aren't the type of people capable of becoming billionaires in the first place.

It's funny every person I've heard call someone a peasant when they were making money, has gone broke right before my eyes .

Most of the "ballers" you see on WF are just really insecure people.

Feeling the need to show everyone how much money you've made is just telegraphing to the world that you have low self esteem and you need to feed your fragile ego by flashing your wealth.

And it almost always leads to that insecure person over-leveraging themselves in their desperate attempt to maintain their image.

Interested in hearing Sumit's opinion on the matter...

Hello friend,

Some want for make lot money because they happy from things lot money can buy them.

Some want make lot money because happy from impress other with money. Like buy expensive thing just for show family and friend they rich. When other impress they happy and no is expensive things that direct make them happy.

Some want for make lot money because just making lot money make them happy. Even if though no have no plan for spend lot of money they make.

Good luck bro

And your last line is key. Their entire identity becomes associated with that image. Then if things start to decline they are compelled to maintain their previous spending habits to maintain the image which only accelerates their downfall, rather than scaling back as a sensible person would do.
