Doesn't confluence do this? For software development anyway? As well as a one time fee and hosted on your dom...

Added Yesware to my stack and I'm never looking back

Edit:
And I'm trying out capsulecrm.com curtesy of Bofu. Have that hooked up with Yesware.

Curious man... have you used salesforce before? If so, what are your thoughts on capsulecrm compared to salesforce?

Also, Yesware is indeed pimp. Are you on their Enterprise plan to be able to connect with capsulecrm? I know they require that for salesforce connection but wondered if they do for any of the crms?

I'm still on trial for Yesware which is enterprise. When I checked out their pricing it said most CRM's so I'm assuming Capsule. They made a point to do a custom area for just Salesforce.

Salesforce is personally just too much for what I need. This is for b2b for my marketing service/dev, I don't need anything super complicated and the amount of customization that Salesforce offers. They're a bit overpriced too if you ask me. I still have to use it for some client work if it requires it though.

Yeah. i find just looking at salesforce gives me a headache. thanks for the bump of the thread man. gonna check out capsule now as it seems pretty robust for a decent price too.

I dont know bros. All the clients are out of Basecamp now, Teamwork is looking pretty good right about now. More 'quality' people working for me too where I need to worry less about transitioning the workflow a little. Just seems like a more featured-rich version of Basecamp for same price. Plus it would be cheaper because they handle time management as well (I can get rid of Toggl).

How good is Teamwork on time management?

I'm playing around with it now, totally decent. I just track time for billing clients + internal data.

Have you used Toggl? If you're looking for something custom Toggl offers a lot in their API. Teamwork seems a little more limited in how you can access the timesheet area - again I am a new user though with some previous experience.

Feel free to shoot me PM

I use a piece of paper, works aight

Not to sound rude, but do you run a business? How can you efficiently communicate with multiple people or see what they're doing if you don't have a system in place? I'm sure you could get something half-ass in place that is a struggle to work with - not to mention pulling data/reports from - but why?

Tracking your time, tracking task output, plus all the other data you can pull from these programs are crucial for any business. Not to mention the basic organizational help.

Not sure if you're bragging to admit you just use a piece of paper (or others who said they just use a spreadsheet), it's the complete opposite in my book. Did you read the rest of the thread?

I'm more blunt here because I used to be very naive with this stuff and I kick myself for getting into it so late (basic business/project management 101 practices).

Teamwork update:
Also, switched all my internal projects over to Teamwork (not client stuff) and trying it for a month. I will post in this thread if I make the 100% switch. From playing around with it more last night it's looking like I'm going to switch.

What originally stopped me before from using this was:
  • All my clients were in Basecamp
  • My team wasn't as strong and switching the project management style would have messed everyone up badly.
