Interested to see what you spend your spare time on. I had a sudden urge to start learning guitar about a year and 3 months ago, went out and got a Jackson DKMG and I've been addicted ever since. I think it was because my musical tastes changed to MEGADETH for the most part, and then I branched off to Steve Vai and everything in between.

This is the Jackson DKMG, active EMG 81\85 pickups. Probably too much for me to handle as a first guitar but I got a great deal on it. Very metal...

After about 11 months of playing it, and eventually using the whammy bar I noticed that the bridge was grinding against the side of the cutout because the bridge posts were drilled incorrectly, so after a month or so of waiting for them to replace\fix it I ended up getting a full refund on it cos they couldn't fix it or replace it without giving me a shitty colour.

I then imported this used Ibanez J-Custom RG8470F from Japan a few months ago. It worked out much cheaper as the retail here for about $6000 if you can even find one. I ended up getting it for about $2300ish.

It sounds fucken awesome, I mainly use it hooked up to Guitar Rig 4 on my PC so I can dial in just about any tone I want. It has Dimarzio pickups, mahogany body and a flame maple top. Couldn't be happier with it. I've sometimes spent 8 hours in a day practicing on the damn thing, not good for business but the hell with it, I have a mate that bought a white Jackson DK2M brand new, played it for a week and never touched it again...

Got a 1989 Guild D-40 and a 1978 Gibson ES-175. Not actual photos, but pretty much my guitars:

I have one of these ^ Ibanez Roadstar 2 series in that colour which is impossible to photograph well, it looks awesome in person. Picked it up for pennies at a pawn shop I happened to walk past.

NICE J-Custom. I got one just like it but with a traditional fretboard. Had it imported and setup by some dude known for his Ibanez work.... Rich 'something'. Think I paid $1700 for it about 5 years ago.

These days I'm back to playing on my Wolfgang. I know... I hated peavy too... but this guitar just rocks.

i have these:

american tele
american sg
gibson es 335
guild starfire IV (badass blues and jazz axe, better than the 335 IMO)
custom birds eye tele type guitar with lace sensor custom shop

couple of acoustics, a 12 string, and an off-brand PRS knockoff that I have strung up with 13's for playing slide.

2 washburns, a cort bass and roland td-6v vdrum kit. It's fun recording from time to time.. here's some of the stuff I've wrote/recorded:

I'm gettin in the mood to record something, happens every 8 or so months :P

I have a $300 Ibanez I bought to learn on... Promised myself I wouldn't buy something more expensive until I had gotten "good enough", but it's been a year and a half now...

I'm thinking of picking up a Les Paul this summer.

Actual pics of this or it didn't happen.

Similar to the one I posted. Although I like the gold control knobs better, I left mine bone stock. Tuning pegs are a little pitted, but overall excellent shape for it's age. Sounds sweet (until I just busted a string tuning it).

^^Sick.

If you post a guitar pic, you should also be required to post a Youtube clip of you playing it.

I'm not much of an attention whore, but maybe sometime in the "bump when high" thread...

Some other nice axes being posted as well. Anybody laying stuff down using software, DSP effects, etc.? Would be interested in seeing what kind of software/plugins people are using. I'm going to get a little more serious about it once I get my audio room finished off. Need to finish up my office first so I can keep up with heavyT.

i am a mental midget when it comes to anything heavy on the technology side, so i just use garage band. put my amp upstairs (heavily customized fender deville 4x10 with the 6l6s converted down to 12ax7s so i can run it hotter), turn it way up, mic it, run a snake downstairs and do my thang.

i tried to play through pods and other digital effects for a while but i just don't feel 'em. i'm sure it's 100% psychological but for me it has to be all analog or go home.
