Any Motorcyclists? I'm a noob...

Take it out to the track, you'll learn much faster and in a much safer environment.

Do not take advice from anyone who has never ridden on the track. EVER.

Track is better than sex.

If you're going to learn on a 600, take it to the track. If you're going to learn on a 250, then street is fine.

You will crash, I've crashed plenty

Wait for your first crash before buying anything pretty

You want at least a 600 even if you are a beginner because at some point you will want to be able to twist the throttle and be confident that the power is there to get you out of the way of trouble.
I've been riding for 20+ years and have had some small accidents and one serious accident, due to speeding, that left me with a permanent but not disabling injury and a completely destroyed Virago. Everyone I know who rides has dropped their bike at one time or another. I know guys who were killed, lost limbs, had to have spleen removed, shunts put in their skull, had brain damage from handlebar going through their skull, many broken bones and all kinds of minor injuries like road rash and burns.
It's a risk when you are essentially naked and sharing the road with idiots who don't pay attention and feel invincible in their steel cages.
Always drive like you are invisible or everyone is trying to kill you and you will increase your chances of survival.
And always watch for that bastard making an on-coming left-hand turn in front of you because even if he sees you - you don't register as a threat and most people have a hard time judging how fast you are coming towards them on a bike.
But there's nothing like it.

The OP is talking about crotch rockets, not arm chairs.
