***** Please do not pick any lock you dont have permission to access.

I got into it at DefCon a few years ago. This was from a competition called "Gringo Warrior" where you had to "break out" of a mexican prison by picking a series of locks. Handcuffs, file cabinet that housed your passport, a series of door locks, and finally a car (not me pictured):

What happens at defcom stays at defcom

Next you will start talkin about the social net... Never mind

I do a little pin and tumbler picking at the moment. Just starting out on some padlocks. Quite satisfying when you get good at it (inb4 inb4)

got into it at 2600 conference few years ago, lock pick village - bought a basic set, set of jigglers and a few other tools. getting really hard now that there are so many different types of locks that are just way different.

About 10 years ago I had the basic set below, its like $15...spent some time with them and could open plenty of deadbolt and regularly locked front doors... From what I remember Kwikset locks are the easiest, Schlage and a couple other brands very tough (I dont think I could ever pick a Schlage) ...Padlocks are very easy to pick and good to start out on. If you want to get really good, go to home depot and grab a board and a few different brands of locks. Screw the locks on the board and practice away.

It is fun but don't get in trouble.
