For example, God said (supposedly, if he exist), that we (or jews?) should honor our parent so we may live longer in the promised land. (Okay, definitely jews then because the rest of us don't have promised land).

Do jews that honor their parent live longer? Are those statistically significant?

Or what about not planting seeds on the 7th year to get abundance harvest? I learn that in western countries land get nutrition out of nowhere and hence need to rest for once in a while. So it could be verifiable but not necessarily a miracle. A smarter God would ask for better irrigation system instead.

Or what about that fire every pentacost in greek or Turkey?

I mean can we get that settled once and for all.

What about benny hinn? Okay he's a fraud. But then there is something there. Placebo does cure some disease.

Any aspect of religions that's proofable? Beyond sugestion. Something physical?

If you're as rich as Bill Gates, can you make 1000 kids legally?
Does it pay to be good?
Why blame evil if it's profitable?
I am a capitalist Robin Hood, I sell to the rich and pay the poor to do it

Well, just to give you one example, it's undisputed that Jesus existed. Even atheist Roman historians admit that.

There's tons of things that prove the Bible correct, Google is your friend.

Josephus is the historian you are probably referring to here. Josephus on Jesus - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In my mind, the words were written by various real people. The content of which is perhaps disputable or at least some poetic license was taken.

Remember, these were written a long time ago and each book/letter was written with a certain purpose in mind (e.g. to convince a small town of Jesus' miracles, etc.)

Also, the bible is a construct of the Catholic Church through the Vatican. Before that, it was just a collection of "books" and "letters" from various people to other various people. A group of the Vatican leaders at the time worked to pick out the ones which they deemed to be legitimate and put them together to form the "bible".

Jesus existed. As what? God? Did he exist? Not until 300 years latter Catholic claimed that he is God. And after that slaughtered lots of Arian that believed otherwise.

And stop mocking my sigs or I change it.

We don't know who write the bible. Some says some guys named Q. The 4 copies from it.

Yet Christians believe that the bible is true without any significant evidence.

Agustinus, a church father said, that there are 4 gospels. What's his justification? That there are 4 wind directions.

I mean I am not going to do a straw men analysis. However, if something so ridiculous is used again and again to proof a point, chance is the guy has nothing better to support his claim.

Actually - there is a pretty strong case for Jesus being completely fictional.

Google it yourself.

One thing that has been tested is the healing powers of prayer.
The result: People being prayed for heal worse.
(Probably to do with relying on said prayer, rather than doctors)

As for the holy fire - shit, have you even read the article you linked?

Criticism dates at least to the days of Islamic rule of Jerusalem, but the pilgrims were never stopped, because of the significant revenue they brought to local governments even at the end of the first millennium. When the apparently uninitiated Crusaders took over the Orthodox clergy in charge of the fire, it failed to appear, increasing the scepticism among Western Christians. But feeling the lack of pilgrim revenues, Baldwin I of Jerusalem reinstated the Orthodox priests in charge, and the fire, as well as the stream of revenues, returned.
In 1238, Pope Gregory IX denounced the Holy Fire as a fraud.

I have one question for you religious nuts out there...

If God or Alah or whoever you are gullible enough to believe in loves you that much then how come he kills the ones you love?

Not every religion is about money

Fuck off... I have never seen a poor religous leader... look at the pope for christs sake... he is one of the richest dudes by default on the planet.... look at benny hin the celeb priest.. oh even better yet lets look at the catholics... where ever there is a catholic church it is on a piece of prime land or on top of a hill overlooking a large area....

If you think that not every religion is about money then you must believe in magical little fairies and rainbows being real... keep :rasta: the wacky tobaccy
