On the firing line
2006 Harley Davidson V-Rod VRSCA

2006 V-Rod, under 7000 miles :)

Feel free to read the CL listing, but the real reason I'm getting rid of it is: I've outgrown motorcycles. Not literally, I'm not THAT fat. Figuratively.

I remember 10 years ago wanting to do nothing but ride. Couldn't even think of anything else. So, a few months ago, I get another Harley (this will be my third) and come to discover that riding just doesn't do anything for me anymore. I don't think I've even managed to put 500 miles on it.

Bums me out, because now I have this beautiful hunk of metal in my garage, but no desire to ride it. To make things worse, it actually annoys me that I can't park my car in the garage because there's a bike in the way. Flashback ten years ago and I would have slept in the garage next to that bike.

Anybody else have this problem? Growing up, I guess they call it. Sucks though. I wish I could recapture those old feelings.

I have a PS3 sitting in my den rotting. Aside from playing guitar hero from time to time with the kids, the thing just sits there.

At one time i knew the release date of all the hot upcoming games.

I just don't care anymore...

That's a nice bike. I've always wanted one. Priorities, having a kid etc have sort of derailed that plan. Worst part about it is I live about 20-25 mins from Daytona Beach. Damn shame.

Shit Mike, I didn't realize you were in Omaha. I lived there for like 6 years. Was stationed at Offutt and stayed for a few years after I got out.

If you are listing it under market I would buy it. Not nada but close to ebay market. And had some pics :)

I live 30 min from you

LOL! Yeah, that's how I landed here, my dad got sent to Offutt in '79 and I stuck around after the rest of my family left.
Heh. Crazy. Omaha still expanding? When I left I lived out near 144th and Dodge (close to Linden Estates). And they kept building and building and building west. I'm sure it's in the high 200's now.

Big Will - I don't do eBay so I have no idea what the eBay market is. Besides, I don't want to give it away. If I did, I'd give it to my dad. Feel free to stop by though.

Yeah, when we moved here way back, we lived on 160th and Center and that was like the very edge of town. Most of the neighborhood was still empty fields. Now, I live about a block from where I grew up and it feel's like the middle of town. On Center, they've built up to about 185th, and Dodge has grown to where we've annexed Elkhorn.

I had a 2003 Fatboy that I went through the same thing with. I did everything to that bike...it was so fucking cool. And I loved to ride. At some point though, it just lost the allure it once had...so I had a $14,000 piece of motorcycle in my garage, in the way. I ended up selling it on ebay to a nice guy, Fireman, who was totally stoked on it. I was happy it went to a cool guy.

Who knows, maybe I'll get the Harley bug again one day.

very nice bike, ive been wanting to get a vRod for a while now, i have a 87 Honda Shadow, that has custom teal paint, and had the rest of the bike brushed, (brushed aluminum)

This is classic.

You are like a fucking road that's been paved twice.

V-Rods are nice. But I am in a different part of the world. You should have no problem selling it, even in this market.

I feel like an internet hundredaire.

@Taco You look like one too, from where I stand.

Omaha is a really nice town. They didn't do the "Urban Renewal" program so all of the nice buildings downtown are still there. I still have a lot of family there.

I grew up in rural Nebraska and I've been thinking about going back if I can find a small, manageable horse ranch. I've lived in Manhattan for a long while so it might be a difficult transition, but it's something of a dream for me.

Sorry to go off-topic.
Good luck selling your bike.

I'll post a pic tomorrow

Omaha's a great place to raise a family. I don't think I'd want to live in a bigger city. In fact, I know I don't. Enough years on the road, I've seen almost every major city (except San Diego and New Orleans) this country has to offer and I like it fine here.
