Anyone else sick of promoting crap and providing no value??

Wow there's some great posts in there if you can sift through the useless retards (you know who you are).

My (new but rapidly being reinforced) philosophy is that you won't be truly successful unless you're doing something that provides REAL value for lots of people.

Rebills, useless diet products, flash-in-the-pan products, arbitrage, etc sure as shit doesn't fit in there.

I've had great successes doing scammy shit. Phenomenal successes, in fact. But guess what...It never lasts. Actually, that sort of stuff usually even ends up with some major karma bitch-slapping later (lawsuits, ftc investigations, stress, black suits at your door, sad emails, etc).

But the projects that I've put together by just saying "Hey this is a cool idea, lots of people will like this. I'm going to take some time and make this really good." have stuck around for years and still make auto-pilot money.

I've learned my lesson. 100% of my energy is now going towards providing value. No exceptions.

Don't tell me You are starting a play school?

I'm curious what you guys would consider a "small fortune" considering you can buy a mansion and a lamborghini for about $400,000 in the US, which would get you a crappy shack and a 1984 Toyota in Australia.

Personally, ecommerce has always been my thing... I was only mildly successful at AM. I am soon opening a physical store to complement my online store, with the plan to open more if it is successful.

The way I see it. Money is great, but it certainly is not the answer to life. It helps a great deal to have it, but it's just one aspect, yet people treat it like it's the only answer to happiness, which is way beyond false.

Saying all rebills are junk is a ridiculous claim. Netflix comes to mind, a negative-option free trial rebill. There are some members of this forum who own quality products with good reputations, that use neg. option continuity.

You crack me up motherfucker, you aint buying no shack with 400k USD in Australia anymore.

I still do quite a bit of shady shit that doesn't provide any real value, but it's gone from being 100% of my online monies to only accounting for like 40-50%. I'm not replacing any of my shady shit and not spending any real time working on it anymore - my focus is now on quality shit.

It's a bit slower to get started but it's also a lot easier when you're getting heaps of shit naturally done for you (no need to buy facebook likes when people are spreading that shit for you).

exactly.

refer to smaxor's post - couldn't have said it any better.

I use the non quality stuff to test seo strategies and tools plugins whatever. Once they work and are save I use them for my real quality business ;D

AM is just a way to get my research paid. and research ensures that my main business pays my family, car, house ... everything

Australia is dirt cheap compared to many parts of the US, you just always point this out to make yourself feel better about not having a house in the harbor on the water with a 80 foot (sorry 25 meter) boat slip.

$400k would get you a shitty 1000 sq ft here.

guess it depends where you live.

$~300k can get you a really well done 3300sq ft home in a gated/security controlled community with your backyard as a golf course ( literally ) and a private lake/marina just 5 minutes away where I live.

No need for a lambo, but if thats your thing then I guess its OK. Id rather have my truck for hauling boats and toys.

However, outside my area for the same thing, it is more like $600k in the big city near me to even start with the same setup.

Are you nuts? Maybe if you live in a seriously depressed part of the U.S. In New York, $400,000 get's you a very modest house that carries close to $15,000 per year in property/school tax.

I love the "idea" of helping people, but always come back to shady shit. Everytime I tried something legit I found that my desire to build something of value was outweighed by my inpatience for dealing with those people I'm trying to help.

I'm guessing there's a higherarchy of needs similar to Maslow's in the business world where once you have enough cash you pursue other endeveours towards self actualization.

Me = money > helping people

Fair enough, it just irks me that Australia is becoming increasingly unaffordable. I don't live in a fancy neighbourhood, but this house down the road just sold for $910,000. It's a fuckin' insane state of affairs.

Our dollar is worth more than the USD now, but have we seen any price cuts? no fucking way. The Samsung series 9 laptop I want to buy retails for $1500USD in the US with a 3 year warranty, it sells for $2500AUD here and we get screwed with a 1 year warranty, 3 years costs another $400 on top. That's just a small example of the assfucking we cop here. I've gone way off topic now so I'll shut the hell up.

Something's wrong with this picture... Who in their right minds would pay close to a million $ for that little shack?

What are rents going for in your neighborhood? Avg. salaries?

A Lambo in australia will set you back 300-400k.

And inner city Melbourne or Sydney, 500k will probably get you a 1-2 bedroom apartment

Interesting.

In 2003 the IMF's 'World Economic Outlook' warned that "housing bubbles in Australia, England, Ireland and the United States" would "burst".

In April 2008 the IMF again stated that Australia's property market was overvalued and close to 25% higher than could be explained by changes in underlying fundamentals. Other analysts argued that the rise in property prices was explained by peculiarities of the tax system.

In April 2010, The Economist house price indicators estimated Australian house prices were the most overpriced in the world, at 56.1% overpriced (against long-run average of price to rents ratio).
