Anyone have experience with filipino writers?

I think it is better to look at hiring people for longer term. If you are paying per word you are only renting someone, if you find a great writer and can get them to be employees that is where the difference really comes into play as far as how your money can be leveraged.

Instead of $1 per 100 words you can get an employee for say 10,000 php a month. That works out to approx $225 usd a month. Get 7 articles a day over 20 days at 500 words an article you are getting say 7000 words for $225 or .003 per word.

The issue here though is payment as lots of contractors/employees don't like to be paid at the end and buyers don't want to pay up front so weeklies usually work better for this.

I have been back to the Phillipines around 15 times the past couple years and have seen pretty decent sized content setups of 15 computers running 18 hours a day pumping out decent quality content ( readable but not money site worthy) so it really depends on what you are looking for.

You can post jobs on craigslist , OLX.ph - The Philippines' #1 Buy and Sell Website , or other job sites. The key is to find people who want to work in php and that you don't middle man yourself as that is where you get the actual value from outsourcing.
