anyone having weird conversion rates with grants

Honestly I wouldn't make a blanket statement about grants like "they all". We run grants a lot and our conversions are pretty solid all the time. If you exclude random holiday traffic. I'd look to your offer, network or traffic source.
 
Shaving on both major offers is at least 30%.. which is VERY high. Probably higher though with the looks of what some of you are experiencing. Thats just highway robbery if you ask me.

I've heard it's 37.2% on Thursdays.

What offer are you running. The best offer I've found is "Grants for you Now" then second is the one from the wu-yi guys "Goverment Funded Grants". Everything else I've tried has converted poorly compared to those two. I'd guess 1/2-2/3 the conversions.

which network has those 2? neither copeac nor nb carry them, only network i'm with that has it is azoogle. Just wanting to see what other networks i shoudl join or should i just stick with azoogle for em?

So I wondering if they shave based on traffic quality (ie. return rate) or just a global shave.
 
I created an Anti-Shaver program which any advertiser tries to shave my leads gets D-rolled

The wu-yi guy's one is a hit an miss. Their shaver is on and off, and when it's on it's gonna bite you in the ass, then come back for more.

The grants for you now however is a nice one.

Jon how do you know? I wouldn't be surprised given the hit my EPC took recently (very drastic so I don't think it's coincidence) but I wish someone could prove this shit. I agree it's highway robbery and f'd up but can anyone actually know what's truly going on?
 
I'm not running much volume at all, but I was getting like 8% on Grants For You Now 3 days in a row, and yesterday it dropped to 2%.

i wonder how you guys can still run those offers if you know that you're being fucked by 30% of your money... I just won't run them anymore until they apologize and admit that they are scrubbing like hell.
 
Folks these may not be scrubs at all IMO. Let me say again "IMO"!..Before I ran my grant offers I actually purchased the two I ran on my "grant blog" and checked the statements on the credit card to see actual charges. The one I had first had a $90 ping to the CC which was the $1.99 free shipping. The one I had second had no CC ping and only $1.95 shipping. So if the $90 wasnt there, There was no action. So I flipped the two offers.
Now, The only thing is, Is I did the test BEFORE my campaign went live but I can say it was profitable. I cant say that the one without the CC ping first on the blog made any difference. However IMO I think it did. It cost me a couple hundred to do this test but was worth it and paid off.
I am at all not saying that they dont scrub. You just have to look at other reasons and I think I found the most important one.
 
Hello Everyone, just wanted to jump in on this thread. We don't condone shaving at all on any campaigns that run on the Advaliant network. We have been seeing some volatility on the Grant campaigns and are working with the advertiser to determine what the cause is. All other campaigns we are running from this same advertiser are near or at the top of their respective verticals' conversion rates. The issue seems to be with this one campaign. Once we find out what is happening I will be more than happy to share the information with everyone on this thread. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions or simply post here.
