Anyone here ever invested in a YouTube Project? Returns could be big

Returns are indeed big, even when you are partnered with a company. We are still getting several hundred a month for a a channel we abandoned a long time ago. I guess YouTube knows how to properly distribute the traffic in flooded niches as long as the first visitors that see your video show the proper signals that verify they have found what they were looking for.

FORGOT TO READ THE LAST PART. I WOULD NOT INVEST IN AN ARTIST FOR THE SOLE PURPOSE OF MAKING MONEY WITH YOUTUBE. THE IDEA DOES INDEED SUCK TO THE POINT THAT I'D RATHER RECORD MYSELF COOKING GENERIC RECIPES.

I don't remember the "idea thread" which end up with a OP coming back after a year saying "Look suckers I've made it now you can lick my balls you pathetic idiots because I was right". (was Clyde an exception - don't remember).

Would love to read that thread, can't find it though.

^ where you are wrong my friend, there's a way to make any music video do 500K+ views if you know who and how to invest like $300- ... I can get to 10 million with a $1.6k investment

they cost more to create BUT :
1) you get a % of digital downloads/sale
2) % of merchandising
3) % of shows/tour
4) % of any major deal signed

I actually am totally cool with what everyone posts but I'm just returning to tell the truth.[/QUOTE]

That's very generous of you, cock muncher

If you struggle with volatility of the views, maybe you should consider targeting devoted followings or videos on practical problems. I agree that considering the idea to invest/produce a "personality" type of channel and get money from ads might sound a little childish. But if you figure out an idea that has high engagement rates inherently (like the two above), money from ads can bring vital cashflow to keep going, until you get significant enough number of fans to monetize in some other way.

Don't invest in music videos huh? LOL I was 'quackers' ay?

Universal Music Group / Russell Simmons/ Brian Dobibns are:
Crank it up: Russell Simmons, Universal Music launch label -- on YouTube | Internet & Media - CNET News

A YouTube network that got sold to Dreamworks for ~$150MM -
DreamWorks to Buy Youth-Oriented YouTube Network | Adweek

now NBC universal is getting in it: NBCU Looking at Buying YouTube Networks | Variety

Guaranteed it's about to get swamped. YouTube content is selling for more than websites. And less work.

not so crazy as i thought.

They are investing in videos consistently to get a percentage of artists overall career.. The new age record label / film company in one.

Many you guys are looking like old money that's failing to keep up. #BLAH

Bumping this thread because our latest YouTube video just got shared by the YouTube Facebook page which has 76 million likes:

https://www.facebook.com/youtube

We're the Mario and Luigi Parkour video. There are a ton of contributing factors to why this went viral, but if you do things right and with a little luck you can definitely do it. This isn't our first one that has done this well.

OP must be joking.

Macklemore and Ryan Lewis have been a thing for years and years. There are -thousands- of other artists or projects just as good or better that will never make any real money.

Attributing it to a "system" or something is incredibly naive.

And, because this is the internet and it's fun to be insulting, $25k in 18 months doesn't exactly mean you know the ins and outs of the game, it means you made 1/50th of what Jenna Marbles does by being an idiot, or that fat fucker Boogie.

And they don't even have an ebook ;)

Wow. And here I am still trying to figure out why YT won't let me monetize some of my vids with adsense. Man am I lagging.
