Anyone Here Use A Reverse Osmosis Water Filter System?

I have Reverse Osmosis water filter system here. Makes water taste a lot bitter but once you get used to it ( takes at least a week) it becomes fine. But once you get used to RO water, you can easily spot change when you are drinking non-RO water.

I've heard other people say this too. It just goes to show you that bottled water and water from a filter aren't obtaining the same results, otherwise you'd have the same taste as an RO system.

I run all water in my pad -shower and drinking water -through an reverse system. And yes, it tastes different (better) and feels better as well. Worth it IMO.

So what happens when you drink reverse osmosis water? Water produced by reverse osmosis is soft water, it contains almost no minerals – and that’s a problem. If you drink mineral-deficient reverse osmosis water, it will dissolve minerals from your bones and tissues. This means that even if you get enough minerals in your diet, reverse osmosis water will steal them from you by taking them from your bones and other vital areas.
Another downside to reverse osmosis as a method of purifying drinking water is the removal of healthy, naturally occurring minerals in water. The membrane of a reverse osmosis system is impermeable to natural trace minerals. These minerals not only provide a good taste to water, but they also serve a vital function in the body’s system. Water, when stripped of these trace minerals, can actually be unhealthy for the body.
Combined with the WickedFire diet of random Nootropics, no exercise and weed I can see this going very well.

I add electrolytes to my RO water. Makes it taste great, plus electrolytes are very important because they allow your body to maintain homeostasis as far as acidity goes. If you don't consume electrolytes regularly, and have a high acid diet, your body will pull electrolytes from internal sources (bones, thyroid, ect) and can contribute to making you sick. Most people eat high acid diets without even realizing it. An odd food that is actually extremely alkaline when digested is the lemon - acidic when you eat it, breaks down to be highly alkaline.

Food for thought

In my earlier life I was a master licensed plumber. I've installed Miles of water mains. If you saw the inside of a city water main main you'd never drink tap water again. Having said that I hate the taste of filtered water - so fuck it. I put those bitches in and I'm drinking that shit straight up. No one gets out alive anyway.

Oh btw: I never drink from a water cooler, or inside any Industrial / commercial manufacturing facility Nothing that used their water like soda machines at hospitals etc - NFW - I've seen so many illegal connections over the years done by fuctards that work for the plant / hospital. New buildings - uh uh, not me... those pipes were Never Flushed out after install in most cases.

I never use a urinal either - that stuff splashing on you is PISS from that last 1000 dudes that used it. Those fixtures are Foul in my opinion and experience.

no offense dude but I see why you have become a gay webmaster now.

my dad and brothers are plumbers and they shower under broken sewer pipes, sleep in shit, eat out of toilet bowls and drink out of urinals. seriously!

Currently using a Brita filter but I've heard that it doesn't filter out heavy metals and fluoride so I'm looking into alternatives. For those here who use a RO system, can you really taste a difference in the water?

Dude, then you wonder why you have allergies.

All that 'bad' is actually good for you.

I drank dirty 3rd world water. Yes, i shitted for 3 days straight. After those 3 days my system was clean and I felt brand new.

Sorry to bump old thread, but I have to say that RO systems generally produce waste water like you need 4 gallons of water to produce 1 gallons of clean water. I don't know whether buying a system like this is justified economically speaking.

RO water is a must have if you live in florida, arizona or any of these other states where technology seems to be a mystery. Put a mineral sache into your glass of water from time to time.

Crystal Quest has 6, 7 and 8 stage under sink, counter top and whole house filters. They also have mega RO filters that have like up to 14 stages of filtration. I use to sell them but got tired of messing with taxes and bookkeeping.

RO systems are nice and all, but you haven't lived until you take a deuce on a solid gold toilet.
