I talk to a guy named Mike who lives in Ohio. He's around 50.

After a few conversations, I find out that he lived in a van until someone helped him move into subsidized housing. Now he has a place, but no money for furniture.

He's living with serious health problems (back, eyes, anxiety), cannot afford medication, and cannot get transportation to his doctor's appointment.

His psychological state is pretty bad. He can't leave his apartment without anxiety symptoms, but he is online a lot and into affiliate marketing, which made me think of this place.

He's too proud to accept my charity but he's willing to work. He tells me he's done some affiliate marketing work before.

If anyone's willing to mentor him or help him in any way, let me know via PM, I'll get you in touch with him. He lives in NE Ohio, has skype and a google voice number.

Even if you can't, but you can arrange transportation to and from his doctors appointment(s), that would be great. I'd love to do it myself, but I'm in NJ. I'll make an effort to go see him around Christmas though.

Thanks guys.

That's heartbreaking stuff.

but he is online a lot and into affiliate marketing,
Not a healthy relationship, not doing him a lick of good. He should make a clean break and find ways to interact with people - that could (maybe should) mean volunteering for any charitable organizations that he's receiving aid or help from.

Oh and OP, I've met my fair share of people like this. I've literally gone to their houses, sat in their living rooms and heard their entire fucked up stories about how they used to be in affiliate marketing (or some other business), lost it all, etc. now need to make cash and are willing to work.

The only thing more heartbreaking than those stories is the fact that it's 99.9999999% of the time bull shit and they will not work to help themselves, hence their current situation. Not trying to generalize but I've heard so many fucking stories like this both directly and indirectly, so just saying. Probably not much you, us or anyone can do for him in all honesty.

I'd be asking more about HOW he got in that position rather than how he'd like to get out, since the best predictor of future behavior is past behavior. dat chyna white is a bitch

For some reason made me think of WaFo more than this place... At least that's how I imagine majority of their members.

50 years old?!

If you haven't put in work by 50, and been responsible.... It's on you.

Paying for your own mistakes now.

.....

I've said this before. $10 article, x 10 day = $100.

$100 x $365 = $36,500 year.

Shit, even 5 a day.. Almost $20K/year.

At home, no car needed, non-labor, etc.

....

I helped out a guy my age.. He stopped showing up after being on the job after 1.5 weeks. No car, no job, baby/wife at home.

You just can't help some people, it sucks. But they have to change first..

...

@ Age 50 though... Come on.

Also buying furniture?... OR you know, perhaps saving up for a cheap used car, ($500-1K) so he can go to the dr/work.

If dude has a computer and internet subscription..

Let him earn it himself. Take responsiblity too. He was to want to work, no one can make him. @50 though, 99.99% chance he's going to be STUCK like this forever. He's comfortable.

Me and prob most of WF would hate living in a van, we'd hustle to get the fuck out of that bitch as fast as possible..

Sounds like that guy just got comfortable living life like that. Had to have an outside person do something FOR HIM. (See the pattern).

...

Hate to be a dick, but it's true. I love helping people, but meh..

Who pays $10/article?

I would think you'd have to be an expert in your field to get that much.

You make good points, but I'd like to think the chances of staying stuck are lower than 99.99%. It's not completely unheard of for dudes to get divorced at 45 and become low functioning alcoholics, for example, but then get their act back together at 50.

(OK, over 95% of the public probably can't write an article worth $10, but yes some people do pay that and more for articles that are not necessarily written by experts - and there can be good reason to.)

I pay $10 an article only when they are on sale. Otherwise it's much more.

Hell, I just paid Kripi $20 an article ON SALE.

Da fuq kind of shit you putting on your sites, bro?

(Disclaimer, I pay about 80 cents per 100 words for my shitty stuff where i Just want it correct and not spun).
