Apple Live Event - Sept 9th - iPhone 6, iWatch, iPay, etc

No one would deny these are improvements. But that's about all they are: incremental improvements. What Apple didn't show yesterday, and hasn't shown since the release of the original iPhone in 2007, is true innovation.

Admittedly, Apple is the only company expected to innovate while everyone else is expected to follow suit. But if anything, the past several years have just shown the reverse.

My take could be summarized by the last few paragraphs of this fantastic article about entrepreneur Peter Thiel:

phones went from 2" screen flip-phones to the smartphones. The equivalent of the home PC to laptop. In some ways more impactful. So a similar evolution is a long way off.

And yeah, we have bigger things to worry about than pixel-density, but I don't see the point other than to ruin our fucking day.

You fuckers don't know shit about watches, listen to Archie

Yeah, all woman are interested in fat, middle aged fucks with a Breguet XX Transatlantique or a Patek annual. Women think they are Seikos... "why don't you get a Rolex?"

Didn't that dude overdose?

It's all a matter of perspective. Some of the most pioneering entrepreneurs in the world aren't busy "worrying" about the bigger things; they're hell-bent on fixing them.

IMO, incremental progress on shit that actually matters > monumental progress on trivialities. And it excites, not worries, the shit out of me.

I mean, take a look at this shit:

This is April 2014. As in, 5 months ago. The yearly iPhone reveal is to keep shareholders happy. That shit is the future.
