Are vaccines safe?

Viruses have always and will always be around. Wipe these out and something more potent will rise to the surface.

After a while roach spray doesn't work on your infestation. Why? They built up a tolerance to it ... just like with germs and our antibodies. The more we get inoculated, the more evolved (and potent) the germs must become to continue thriving.

Getting vaccinated will only teach your immune system how to not do the job it was intended to do.

That said, if something serious (think death here) is going around and there is a cure in a needle, my family and I are getting vaccinated ... momma didn't raise no fool. I just think it's stupid to get inoculated over every little thing.

I say get the flu, it's good for you!

Our immune systems work about the same as they ever have. Thing is, due to modern medicine, the average lifespan is about twice what it was 1,000 years ago.

Feel free to forfeit those advantages if you want. You'll end up helping that 6.7 billion number sooner than the rest of us.

imo the vaccines are to guarantee future customers. some people can't handle the mercury and get fucked up. it's not that they are trying to kill people, just make them sick later so they will have to buy their products.
or maybe they are just reckless with ingredients, selling a cheap product to make more money.

the fluoride is too make you stupid and docile though:D.

In Canada you have the right to not vaccinate your children. Anything saying otherwise is color of law.
Vaccinating your children is like playing dice with their health - at least fully investigate both sides of the issue for yourself and make your decision.
If I were to vaccinate my children I would be very careful, do research on the different vaccines, manufacturers and batches of vaccines, and stay the fuck away from combo vaccines.

Considering I was suspended indefinitely back in 2002 until I received the required vaccinations, I'm pretty fucking sure it's mandatory.
 
i think you need to do the proper paperwork to opt out, but it's not mandatory. I could be they never dealt with that situation and believed they could suspend you. Or they neglected to tell you the proper way to explicitly opt out of being inoculated, therefore they were allowed to suspend you.

You can't just refuse, you need to fill out some form I believe, stating the reasons you refuse to be vaccinated ie. religion, conscience, etc.

According to the constitution and the Government of Canada, you have the right to receive education without being vaccinated.

Pharmaceutical companies are definitely in it for the profit. But, almost all of their profit comes from musculoskeletal and neurologic drugs (they get 10 times the return on investment from these drugs as opposed to vaccines and antibiotics). As a result, they haven't made any great strides in these areas because of the crappy, government-regulation on their profits with regards to vaccines and antibiotics. 131 children in the US have contracted measles this year. 63 of those children weren't vaccinated.

BTW- I'm all up for debating this kinda stuff because that's how progression is made. I'm reading through the links you've posted--I just happen to fall on the other side of the coin.
 
Vaccines do not prevent diseases, per se. You can still contract measles, mumps, et al, after you are vaccinated. Vaccines essentially pre-train your immune system to deal with those diseases, giving your immune system a higher chance of responding effectively and rapidly.

In essence, barring vaccines, when you are exposed to a new illness, your body has to go through an entire prototyping phase in order to deal with it.

However... In some part, I am in agreement with you SeoReborn, in that some vaccinations seem overdone, given modern living conditions. It is very likely that western bathing and social habits would inhibit spread of diseases significantly, even without vaccinations. The thing that would screw us as a species would be if a significant viral or bacterial threat (h9n2) managed to hop the species gap as an airborn agent.

At that point, all us indoor, anti-social, not-life-having folks would actually be displaying dominant survival traits. :P
 
There is a lot of FUD around about vaccines. Doctors in the UK aren't allowed to form their own opinions. They are paid by the NHS and have to tow the NHS line. In fact, GPs get a bonus if they achieve certain immunisation targets. I wonder if that makes any difference to their opinions.

Doctors don't have your kids' best interest as their #1 priority. Their #1 priority is themselves and their families. Then their income and their employer. That's followed by their professional duty to protect the community over the individual. Your kid is about #67th on the list.

Saying that, I'm now going to muddy the water. Anti-vaccination information is largely propaganda. Is there any competent medical authority or person promoting the anti-vaccination agenda without an agenda of their own? I mean like a book/ebook? Or linkbait? OR DVD? Or a court case with a big potential pay-out (phama companies have deep pockets)?

My advice: As a parent, whatever you do is right for your child. Do your research, take your decision, and always believe that you did the right thing irrespective of how the future plays out.
 
I did a ton of research into vaccines recently as my youngest son was about a year old. Long story short is that we stopped the vaccines. It seems to affect boys most negatively but if we had more kids we wouldn't give them regardless of whether or not a boy or girl.

Important note is that if you do indeed opt out of the vaccines the doctors are going to ask you to sign a paper that they have... You might want to consider using the print outs here instead of the American Academy of Pediatrics forms that your doctor is going to give you to sign. (not legal advice obv)

Just my $0.02 here, but I've been vaccinated for pretty much everything you can get one for.
The only thing I've had more serious than the common cold has been a case of glandular fever, which only happened after my immune system was seriously weakened already from having an infected gum and throat because I couldn't get my wisdom teeth out fast enough.
I've never had any form of pox, measels, whooping cough (well, I've got a bit of a smoker's cough coming on, but that's different again), etc etc etc.
I DO remember during high school that the kids from non-vaccination families would actually get sick on a regular basis.

The way something goes into your body affects how it works.
There's a reason why some medications are suppositories, others are nasal, and others are direct IV.

I assure you if you drank saline solution, you would be amazingly ill... Yet plug it into your elbow, or squirt it in your eyes, and it's all good.

So yeah, I think MDs are probably right NOT to drink the additives in vaccines. Mostly, it's saline, but you're also going to get bacteria and virii going into places that they normally wouldn't (i.e. your stomach lining and gut) if injected as a vaccine.
