Not monetarily... but I'm well off enough to be comfortable and not have to work very hard.
And that's what counts for me.

Likewise. I've spent most of the last year fairly broke, but I've paid off old debts, invested in some long term shit and much more importantly spent lots and lots of quality time with my gf.

Money means shit, it's just a means to an end. Sure it's nice to have the freedom it gives ya but I'd much rather make enough to live on and have more free time than be endlessly striving to earn more, and if ya look at the big picture I bet we are all better off than most of the World's population.

I try to be Buddhist. Fuck ambition, fuck desire for possessions. Contentment is what counts.

I am working on it, not quite there yet but I live like I want to and work for no one but my self.

There's just two of us and we both have somewhat intense day jobs, but my wife and I are top 2% where we live (and were near the top 5% when we were in NYC). IM income is a pathetically small part of that. We do pretty well, which makes it somewhat more difficult to think of IM as more than just shits and giggles. At a certain point, as others have said, time becomes more valuable than the opportunity cost of not putting it towards more IM efforts.

Being rich should not be just about having a lot of money. It should be about having a lot of money and being happy about your life. Does a 400k salary make me happy if I have to lick everybody's ass to keep myself up there? Hell no.

Hi income and wealth accumulation is not always the same. You can make 250k, but spend it all. Then there's the cheap neighbor that has been buying small ranch style homes for the past 15 years. He wont have a high income but his net worth will blow any 250k-o-r out of the water in the long run.
