Auggie from XY7 screwed me

Ouch! Going off the record to say something different from what they said would have been enough for me to stop using them at once. But hey, atleast you learnt your lesson. =)

Sorry to here that man. Hopefully one of the XY7 reps can come in here and tell their part of the story though.

Dude. You are complaining that you got caught trying to promote XY7 as a myspace spam shop? And you're complaining about $164.

Sorry man, you said you're young. Take this as a learning experience - if someone tells you something "off the record" that means keep it off the record. Don't try to promote something like that in a forum signature. You broke their official TOS, regardless of whatever phone call might have happened, and you got banned.

I've worked with both Max and Auggie in the past, and they're good guys. As with any business relationship, if someone gives you the green light to go a little gray market, don't promote it in a forum sig. Der.

Exactly! $150 or w/e isnt shit so take it as a learning experience. Its good that youre getting into the game so early, you should be making big bucks by your early 20s.

how did I break their TOS?

XY7's Publisher TOS said:
(Affiliate, Publisher, Partner) WILL NOT spam or send unsolicited email mentioning or promoting the (Affiliate, Publisher, Partner) programs.

As Carlos Mencia would say, DE DE DEE!

Just... take it as a lesson learned. And also, don't voice your grievances with a network on a public forum unless you don't have any interest in working with any of them or their partners in the future. Handle these things off board.

I did not break the TOS, I didn't spam anything and I don't intend on using XY7 ever again.

Update: I am know longer pissed at XY7, the person I referred was in fact MySpace (he talked to me on AIM), and they contacted XY7. They are everywhere.

my fault :(

Glad this thing was resolved quickly and with Myspace directly as well.

There are two important points I'd like to stress here, and I'm not taking a swing at anyone either:

1- You should not be allowed to join any network if you are under the age of 18 years old and are a resident in the USA. If you are 16 years old or older, then you should be REQUIRED to fax in your working papers to the network, and ALL networks should require this.

2- Before you make a post about any network or company, or if a network makes a thread or post about any affiliate... TRY YOUR HARDEST TO WORK IT OUT IN PRIVATE FIRST! I say this all the time for a reason. Bringing drama onto a forum can do serious damage to both parties involved before an agreement is reached. It should ALWAYS be your LAST resort, not your first.

3- Stay away from EF to keep shit like this from happening.

What about this being only from US thingy? :p You know there are some honest people outside US too. =)

All,

Obviously we do not support myspace traffic. I appreciate the support from those who know me and how I conduct business.

As for the responses that need to be answered.

Jon - Agreed on the age limit. Ours is 18 and over. Not sure how Romestar got in.

NachoNinja - Sorry to disappoint you. :(
