Quick question about something I know jack shit about. When it comes to websites about bands (news, show dates, etc.), can you use the name of the band in the domain, or can they jack your shit if you do that? If you can't use the full name of the band (which I'm suspecting you can't), then how close can you make it to the actual name? Like if it was for Fall Out Boy (just an example), could you have something like Fall Out Mania, or Fall Out Universe or whatever the fuck else?

I'm sorry for the stupid fucking question. Here are some ass and titties.

You can create any domain you want until someone threatens to take it away. Then it's just best to let them take it away. So yeah, I'd say going for a variation of the name would be the breast. Butt I am no exspurt at internet law.

I'd say it depends on the band. What might be cool now might not be cool in a year from now depending on how big they get and how they treat fan sites. It's their trademark and what they do to enforce that mark depends on how big the band is, and how they treat third party sites.

To many variables to say ye or ne.

Every fan site I've come across has the name of the band, musician, or actor/actress in it. People can come at you for anything, but a fan site - unless you are putting them in a negative light, I can't see them trying to come at you. Even then they are a celebrity and a public figure. Look at the one guy that ran for president - Rick Santorum, SpreadingSantorum.com was ranking for his name and there was nothing he could really do about it except complain to Google. And that got him nowhere.

Hello friend,

You had potential for eight, but after seeing big nipple and hairy asshole I award you no points, and may Krishna have mercy on your soul.

Whatever the deal is, the worst case scenario is that they send you a DMCA and you have to take down the site. My gut feeling though is 99% of bands won't give a shit. So in other words, go for it buddy.
