Hi guys,

I tried to send my monthly newsletter (about 500 people) but all of my emails came back. The error says that my IP has been banned.

I used shared hosting, OK? so I asked the administrators. They replied stating that they spotted a spambot on the server and that they removed it. They also requested to be removed from the blacklists they were in (I found the IP on 6 blacklists).

It's been 3 days and I still cannot send emails to @hotmail or @yahoo accounts. All other domains are OK. The question is... Should I keep waiting for them to have the IP delisted or should I start looking for another hosting?

Ask them if they can move you to another IP within 4 hours. If they cannot, then look for new hosting.

DO NOT TELL THEM YOU ARE LOOKING FOR NEW HOSTING UNTIL YOU HAVE IT.

Some hosts are real assholes to outgoing customers.

OK, I'll give it a try. Actually, he sent just me an email telling me he activated the DNS control on my account. What does that mean?

His reply,

"No, the mail server needs to be that ip. The spam bot reappeared last night and this time I suspended the account instead of just deleting the files. Just this morning we were not on any blacklists and now we are again."

That is to say, I'm looking for hosting, amigos.

I did some checking on how IP's work or rather the amount of them...seems safe to say in about 1.5 years we will have gone through them all. That is when IPv6 will finally start taking off. Currently only around .1% of the internet uses (that according to my network engineer)
