I hear the Plum card is really good.. I'm going to try and go for that too. I need a good cash back points card. Although it would be cool to get a NON-AMEX card for a change.

i got denied but you will probably get it. im gunna try to get the simply cash one now.

Out of curiosity (I don't have any AMEX cards) how long was your business bank account up when you guys were approved for the Plum or SPG?

How does D&B start establishing credit for a business anyway until you have a card? It seems like a catch-22: You need a credit card to have a credit score, but need a good credit score to get a credit card.

Starwood Amex, their points are great. if they dont start you with a limit high enough call them and get it raised

If anyone from India is looking for a card, JetAirways Citibank Platinum is awesome.

You not only get 4 airmiles for every Rs. 100 spent (8 if you book a ticket through jetairways.com -- and you can book a flight on any Skyteam Member which includes Air France / KLM / NWA with Jetmiles) but also access to Premier Lounge at IGI Delhi, Mumbai and Brussels. Best part being that you make the airmiles on International Transactions unlike every other card I've seen here.

I have ICICI Platinum and HSBC Platinum too but neither of them are as good as Citi when it comes to rewards.

When it comes through, just give me the # and I'll confirm your details.

This is what I found out about the Plum. They advertise it as a no limit card but they do have a 'soft limit' or whatever they call it. They gave me $50k soft limit when I first started using it and wouldn't let me charge above that. They did let me pay it off ahead of time twice and then told me that I can't do that either.

I also found out that the soft limit increases by the previous payed off balance divided by 2 (this happens only if you hit a new high balance). So if you pay off a balance of $50 they increase your 'soft limit' by $25k.

This info is from last Sept. so it might not be relevant anymore.

hahahah :). Seriously credit card companies with cash back hate people like us who will spend the max and pay it all off the next month. We are like the worst kind of client for them.

Best thing about an Amex is it's a Charge Card. With most Credit Cards like Mastercard and visa. Your available balance only reset every billing cycle typically 28-days even if you pay it off before the due date. With Amex its a Rolling Credit Line. So once you pay off the amex you get full available line of credit which really gives you the ability not to cap out on your advertising spend. Also regarding Getting approved at the begining you need to use your personal credit then after 4 months of established Credit History use D&B number.

I travel a good bit so I've got an Amex Platinum Delta SkyMiles Business card. It worked really well in 2008, but 2009 has been a nightmare. They've cut down our limit (for no apparent reason), their website has problems on a regular basis, customer service has sucked, etc.

I've got an Amex Gold Card on the way, so we'll see how well it does. I've heard good things about it as far as the rewards are concerned.
