I just got a set of Moleskine Cahiers [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Moleskine-Plain-Cahier-Journal-XLarge/dp/8883705068/"]Link[/ame] and it is hands down one of the best notebooks/pads/paper I have ever written in. The size is so cute and cuddly. I'd highly recommend them for anyone who writes in pencil or light ink. Just not anything heavy duty cause the pages are really thin.

It handles Sharpie Pens and RSVPs fine, as well as pencils. But, I haven't written with anything heavier than that so I couldn't tell you beyond that.

Also, I didn't realize it at first, but one of these is nearly the same size as an iPad, just a little thinner and lighter. I can't wait to get my hands on an iPad if carrying it around feels just as good as this.

One more thing, I'd also recommend the ru a6 Journal [ame="http://www.amazon.com/ru-a6-Journal-Charcoal-Xonex/dp/B000PDM7M6/"]link[/ame] as an alternative to a regular Moleskine. I find them to be better size for writing in, as well as a little more flexible.

Edit: Note, neither of these are your standard A4 sized paper.

I also use a Moleskine notepad, though I think mine is smaller.
Highly recommended.

Highly recommend the Moleskine as well. I use the hardcover large notebook as my journal: [ame=http://www.amazon.com/Moleskine-Ruled-Notebook-Large/dp/8883701127/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top]Amazon.com: Moleskine Ruled Notebook Large (9788883701122): Books[/ame]
