I really need something which nags me on screen to get the work done. I forget a lot of things and only realize it end of day now.

do you recommend something that works for windows 7. Need something which is tiny, sits in the taskbar, can set alerts, reminders etc

Simple the better. any recommendations?

Maybe not exactly what you want, but at least something.

"My To-Do List" is a Windows Sidebar Gadget that helps you keep track of your everyday tasks.
It features a very simple interface that doesn't get in your way. Double-click to edit an item, drag to change order. To create a new to-do list just open a new instance from the Desktop Gadget Gallery. Use the toolbar icons to save and open your lists. To change the size of the gadget use the dock/undock button.

Evernote or Vueminder Calendar Pro. Syncs with Google calendar. Tried them all.

as a non-digital suggestion, I like to just stick post-it notes to the side of my monitor for stuff that I absolutely can't forget to do for the day, and take them down only when done, it's nice cause they never get buried by other stuff

I use trello, but I keep it in my browser all day and I am always checking it ( habit of mine ).

I do know what you mean by something "nagging" you though. I would prob. use things or omni task if your on Mac. If on PC, then use remember the milk

Trello is pretty cool, another I'm trying out on a collaborative project currently is Asana. Browser based but simple with email reminders.

I use a whiteboard, post-it notes, and a small notebook. I've never found a task manager that I liked and didn't have to force into my workflow. Once Win8 comes out I might have a small task manager docked on the side but I usually work with every window fullscreen. I should probably switch to something like dwm or awesome at some point.

Asana looks good though.

gonna try asana and milk today to see which one suits me. Thanks for the huge list though, always good to refer back.
