While a great content site can net a large amount of cash, so can crappy landing pages and automated wordpress blogs, among a million other things.
It's more of an art than a science, and there are countless ways to approach it.
Today I plan on making
- About $30-$60 on a campaign I'm running to an ugly landing page on the content network.
- About $200 from really simple websites that I'll sell on ebay, plus hosting commissions.
- I'll spend some time working on www.hilariouscartoonvideos.com with the intention of building some quick traffic and selling in a month or two if I can get the revenue where I want it.
- I'll look at my idea list of 50 new projects and decide which one to start next.
- I'll come up with 5 more ideas that I won't get around to for months.
- I'll work at my damn day job from 9-6, have a date at 7pm, and assuming the girl isn't staying the night I'll probably be working from 10pm until midnight or so.
Yesterday was my "day off." I woke up at 7am and didn't stop working until 11pm, with about an hours break for lunch and 15 minutes for dinner. This has been my life lately, work a full time 50+ hours a week day job, and use every second of my spare time to build my online empire. The quicker I can get working on this stuff full time, the quicker I can quit my day job and start working for myself making some real money.
Personally, I get bored with web design and writing. I love the marketing side. Maybe you love web design and writing, and long term content is your best bet, I have no idea.
Either way, hard work, knowledge, and creativity are the keys to success. One way I think of ideas for websites is to go to DP or Ebay and find the sites that are selling for $x,xxx amount of dollars. Most of them earned decent revenue and wouldn't be tough to build, so if you want examples just do that. I also check out every competitor I have in every niche, spyfu is pretty nice for this, but I analyze their landing pages and ad copy as well.
No coffee yet, </rant>.
