Everyone that's new seems to always be asking "what's the best program?" and "how can I make a million dollars without doing anything?"

Well, successful webmasters know it takes a lot of work to make a living online, and I think that it takes great sites with great content and generally not a lot of "scheming" to make money.

What I want to know is, who are some of the most successful webmasters on here? I think we could all learn by taking a look at their sites and what they're doing. I'm interested at least.

Whatever.... the average web surfer has no idea WTF is goin on. They are not gona know or have the knowledge to skim keywords and niches from a site they surf to. An Internet Marketer is always looking and analyzing every site they visit for profit potential and niche market value.

The average Joe Blow surfer is not visiting your site to determine what profit it could make. Every site I visit I analyzise it completely to determine if I need to "knock off" the site and it's keywords to make a profit

I will guarantee you that if I were to advertise on this forum my best keywords and niches, that within 24 hours the competition would put me out of business for that niche and keyword.

Well put, popeye!! :D The average surfer isn't trying to a tear apart a site and look for revenue streams, keywords, traffic sources - nor do they even care. On the other side of the coin, people on wickedfire are highly competitive, which is why we don't show each other our sites until we trust the other person.

So m3rcury, why don't you share some of your successful sites with us first?

actually you really don't need great websites or great content to succeed in affiliate marketing.

m3rcury;
You will learn pretty quick that no one's gonna share that kind of info here. If you really want to know who's making some decent $$$, just go check out the Post your stats thread or something like that. People here don't boast their profits or share their sites for no reason other than the occasional design review and things like that.

Like popeye pointed out - it is way too easy for someone to steal niches/keywords/etc. if its posted openly. Remember that this is a competitive business.

But - read around on the forum a little, and you might find a few examples of good sites that work well for some people.

First off, there are not just posters here but thousands of lurkers. So when you post your information it's out there. Second, most of the affiliate marketers have numerous websites so even if they post a link to their site it probably won't be their primary income producer. And finally, most of us employ tactics that we consider proprietary. I'm relatively new to the affiliate biz and I've already come up with several unique methods to monetize my sites (plus unsaturated niches), so I would venture that the old pros have some really good methods that they prefer to keep to themselves. From what I can tell, you're pimping web design services so obviously you have nothing to hide, you want to drum up business, right?

I've made thousands from my late night scheming sessions. I guess you're just doing it wrong. :xomunch:

While a great content site can net a large amount of cash, so can crappy landing pages and automated wordpress blogs, among a million other things.

It's more of an art than a science, and there are countless ways to approach it.

Today I plan on making

  • About $30-$60 on a campaign I'm running to an ugly landing page on the content network.
  • About $200 from really simple websites that I'll sell on ebay, plus hosting commissions.
  • I'll spend some time working on www.hilariouscartoonvideos.com with the intention of building some quick traffic and selling in a month or two if I can get the revenue where I want it.
  • I'll look at my idea list of 50 new projects and decide which one to start next.
  • I'll come up with 5 more ideas that I won't get around to for months.
  • I'll work at my damn day job from 9-6, have a date at 7pm, and assuming the girl isn't staying the night I'll probably be working from 10pm until midnight or so.
Yesterday was my "day off." I woke up at 7am and didn't stop working until 11pm, with about an hours break for lunch and 15 minutes for dinner. This has been my life lately, work a full time 50+ hours a week day job, and use every second of my spare time to build my online empire. The quicker I can get working on this stuff full time, the quicker I can quit my day job and start working for myself making some real money.

Personally, I get bored with web design and writing. I love the marketing side. Maybe you love web design and writing, and long term content is your best bet, I have no idea.

Either way, hard work, knowledge, and creativity are the keys to success. One way I think of ideas for websites is to go to DP or Ebay and find the sites that are selling for $x,xxx amount of dollars. Most of them earned decent revenue and wouldn't be tough to build, so if you want examples just do that. I also check out every competitor I have in every niche, spyfu is pretty nice for this, but I analyze their landing pages and ad copy as well.

No coffee yet, </rant>.
