My Xmas gift to myself (and my business) is buying an affordable desktop PC with dual monitors (bought separately). I've been scoping out Black Friday deals but nothing has REALLY jumped out at me...

A lot of the deals include VISTA - which I want to avoid at all costs. And of course I need a video card that supports dual digital monitors. Doesn't need to be an amazing computer, just one that does the job and doesn't suck.

I have my eye on New Egg, Woot and Amazon and am not opposed to going the retail route for the right offer... but anyone have any suggestions?

Feel free to chime in with other Black Friday deals that you'll use for your business.

Dell has some really good deals on their Vostro line, but they're likely a tad weak for you guys. In any case, I'd look at Dell on Friday. That and Tigerdirect.

I'm buying 2 laptops for Christmas gifts and with tax, will pay just under $400 each.

Subigo, NewEgg has a deal that starts in 2 hours that is 22" monitors for $129/each and 19" at $99 each and also a desktop deal:
Black Friday: Newegg's Black Friday Deals Unveiled

But the desktop is Vista and I don't want to buy the monitors before buying the desktop.

Wal-Mart has a decent desktop at $398 but it comes with Vista. Ugh. I also just found this link for CompUSA and TigerDirect:
Black Friday: CompUSA and TigerDirect Pink Friday Deals Leaked

Holy shit, thanks! I was just about to buy that other monitor for $149... Do you know if there's a limit on the amount of monitors you can buy? I wouldn't mind 3 22-inch widescreens.

I know staples is having an in-store deal for a flatscreen 19" lcd monitor at a $100 price tag per.

$200 for dual monitors doesn't sound too bad to me.

EDIT: nevermind, I'm going to try to score that New Egg deal on 22" monitors.

seeing that your affiliate marketer spend 1.5-2.5k on a setup should be well worth it I'm sure your at your computer 10 + plus hours a day i would never skimp on purchasing a PC go for it do it right and you want have to be frustrated with slow speeds and aggravating issues, also just reformat you wont find computer that don't have vista on them in stores

check out www.powercyberpc.com

look to spend at lease 1.5k on one

whats 1.5k when it's really the only over head you have, a store front would cost 1000s a month luck for us we just need a internet connect and a computer

Holy shit:

look at that "Search New Egg' XX-XXX-XXX number on the Black Friday Ad and you can actually get those deals now.

The 22" monitors look good although $20 of it is Mail-In there is still Free Shipping so that is awesome.

BUT - look at the customer reviews... does that mean it will be a pain in the ass to set it up for dual monitors?

I'm about to snag 2 22" and then figure out my PC deal later although the PC from New Egg at $299 doesn't sound terrible either... complete dual monitor desktop package for $500 sounds kinda nice.

UPDATE: @SkpStaa... people equate price with quality way too much. If it costs more, it must be so much better. That's the fallacy that enables brand names to sell a pair of jeans for $500. If I'm able to buy a complete setup for $500... how much MORE will I get out of a system that costs 5 times as much? I doubt I'll get 5 times the value out of it.

Not to mention, a few months down the road I could use this computer for the "interns" I hope to scoop up and by a better setup for myself... :)

Not PC related but, Amazon has PS3 bundles for $199... but you need to enter a whole lottery type thing in order to get the coupon code. They have some other sick deals too.

I am going for the 19" inch monitors I think. The reviews looked solid enough and the customers seem satisfied for the most part. The only complaint seems to be no DVI, which I don't really care enough about to have it factor into my decision.

I have been absolutely in love w/ my 22" monitor widescreen and it very much helped productivity.

For $149 here's a 22" widescreen, bigger screen and allows for digital input (unlike the $99 monitor above) so could be used in your upgraded system and stick the intern with another monitor. Mine is 2ms vs. 5ms on this one. Don't know how much that affects things.
Newegg.com - Acer X223Wbd Black 22" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 2500:1 - LCD Monitors

Will you get $50 of increased productivity, I would find it hard to believe you wouldn't!

As stupid as it sounds have you guys looked at Woot? Not that they have Black Friday deals (dunno if they do or not) but they always seems to have some pretty badass deals on desktops.

Problem with WOOT is you gotta wait for the deal to come. And you don't know if/when it will. And then if its a WOOT OFF you can be pressured into buying before doing your due diligence for fear of missing out on the deal.

WOOT OFF is perfect for gift shopping because it is impulse buying but for a big ticket item I'm not sure how reliable it would be. I wonder if they do anything special for Black Friday.

Nonetheless its a good point. Perhaps I'm being hasty.
